neverdie
I've got a 1000 litre plastic tank in the back yard, but it fills from the main. Ive seen them a bit bigger, up to 2500 litres i think, but nothing like the tanks back home. I often sit and watch the rain poor off the roof and flood the yard and think....what a pity. Although, they seem like distant memories at the present time.

Garry9999
Turn of the hundreds of thousands of dripping taps, that should save gigalitres.
Tokay
How about banning the senseless waste of water during the Songkran festival? Not only will water be saved, but also hundreds of lives. The Songkran celebration should return to its traditional ways with the pouring of water on the hands of monks and elders. Banning the 'water war' that explodes every year and results in hundreds dead would certainly benefit everyone - especially if the droughts happen as predicted. Don't be silly. You can't do something silly like conserve water during a time of a water shortage. That would make sense, and that's against the law here. Dunno, no need to ask as long as they keep up the supply (hadn't moved here yet though a few years ago). Seriously though, we've never gone that long without the city water supply cutting back in. The worst was maybe 2 days in a row during the beginning of the Thappraya Rd. renovations when they were cutting the main daily and sometimes longer. We actually do have two wells on our other main family property in Bangkapi as backup to the city mains (which really don't ever cut out, but the wells existed long before Bangkok expanded to envelope the area). Not much luck though if you expect me to stop talking. ;-) As long as there is water somewhere in the country, we'll pay to truck it in if needed.
