I have been in Thailand for almost 2 years and I want to experience the various regions before making the big purchase. I spend a lot of time looking at websites of listings trying to find both rental properties and properties for sale. I would think that there are many of us farang that are interested in looking at or finding a special place to visit or live. So, I ask all of you long lived, highly experienced, extremely knowledgible farang .... what good websites have you found that could help us lesser farang.

We all know about the obvious ones like Thaivisa, Chiang-mai Real Estate, House of Chiang-mai. But what other gems can you share. Any suggestions?

Also, I am interested in knowing your views of how a renter protects himself when renting a property here in the land of scams. What is it a renter should do to make sure he is actually renting from the owner of the property?
