"Forum Portal" Page - Excellent But Can We Have

No, really, if you hit the "Stop" button on your  browser as soon as the "Latest Topic Replies" window appears, the window will be  at the maximum size - showing all entries - and all the links work.

Of course, nothing moves, there is no "scrolling",  but that's OK because everything is there.

Give it a try, Tiz :o

I tried, I failed. It loaded too quickly for me.

or a dynamically updated non scrollable list which can display more.

Give it a try, I'm sure it would be "more user friendly"

I think you must be using Internet Explorer because I can't get it to work with IE either. I'm using Firefox and can get the whole 40 topics listed. It's probably one of the few advantages of having a slow dial-up link :D:D

I have only just got around to checking out the forum portal page, and it seems like a great idea. I used to keep alternating between the "view new posts" screen and "mark all forums as read" but this should save a lot of unnecessary clicking...!! :o

Unfortunately whilst the "latest topic replies" window is quite happily scrolling away on my PC, it doesn't appear to actually update!

I watched the same replies go past for quite a while on the forum portal, and then opened a separate "view new posts" window, only to find that half of the topics had in fact received a more recent response over 15 minutes beforehand. Is there a delay in updating the scrolling forum portal view, or is it likely to be a setting on my PC (IE6 on XP)...?

Correct, I have uninstalled FF as I didn't like it.

Good, innit?

That might be a reason to re-instal it though.
