Unless the rally is at the airport why? What does a rally on the otherside of BKK have to do with checkin times?

Unless the rally is at the airport why? What does a rally on the otherside of BKK have to do with checkin times?

You don't think that they might have some extra security, maybe prior to actually entering the airport?

Simple question gets a simple answer!! :)

One can expect traffic jams in Bangkok, from which most people will travel to the airport. So allowing for enough time is a wise thing to do.

some airport personell will be late to work or not coming at all, so some operations might be slower

Emirates crews normally stay at the Holiday Inn on Silom Road. From Friday they will be staying at the Novotel close to the airport.

If you're travelling around Bangkok, best to avoid these areas:

Yes, and I imagine traveling to the airport would take longer than normal. However it is talking about CHECKING IN, as in already inside the airport, at the computer showing your passport, and checking baggage.

I just wonder how many airlines will say sorry you where here 2.30 early not 3 as advised, you can't board.

Yes, early check in times should be three to four days in advance..... :)

Thank you for that little snippet. That should help many.

One thing, does anyone know why these particular spots were chosen? It may have been discussed on an earlier post.
