Tight security for bus terminals and airports

BANGKOK: -- The general pubic will have access to Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports and bus terminals nationwide as usual during the expected mass anti-government protests in Bangkok this weekend, transport permanent secretary Supoth Sublom said on Wednesday.

Security has been tightened at major transport hubs, and alternate routes will be available if the main routes should be blocked by the red-shirts rallies, Supoth said.

Public buses have been advised to go around major protests sites, to avoid possible damage to buses and for the safety of passengers, Supoth added.
