Why Is Mr. T So Khee Neow, Pay The 2000 Baht Dude!

sounds like his red shirt rally is fading because he doesn't want to pay 2000 baht plus gas to the rent-a-protesters, he is only paying 1500b and no gas.

i don't understand why he's so cheap if this is his last ditch attempt. for 100 million baht (about three million dollars) he could buy 50,000 protesters which would make a pretty impressive showing.

$3 million is less than half the cost of a gulf stream 5 jet. small change to Taksin, you would think he's be willing to bet the farm on this one?

It's likely all calculated, unlike what a lot of non business folks do: pick a random number out of thin air.

There's a local saying 'neua tao yam tao' (serving/preparing turtle meat to/for the turtle). Like giving people 'free rent' for a month before signing a contract. Or when you buy whatever consumer product and get X% "free." No sweat or burden that way.

From the beginning he was so cheap and wanted to get things done as cheap as possible, some people never change. I call this a blessing; we don’t need him to screw the country more

80 years in country (family wise) and politics at most affects life and business when there are unexpected and usually very temporary holidays because of tanks in the street, martial law, or their latest gimmick: an airport closure.

So many people complain about politics like they are bidding on gov't contracts to build highways or power plants when likely they are so far removed from it all that whatever the gov't does at most swings their cost of living no more than a few % points in either direction.
