This is a thread with pictures on what is happening in Bangkok, we will not let it be a slanging match!

And please do not quote my posts (or click on the "reply" button in my posts) as it will just re-post the same pictures again.

Update:

The closer the flotilla of river cruisers carrying 2,000 red-shirt supporters from the former ancient capital of Ayutthaya gets to Bangkok the warmer the greetings are from riverside homeowners.

The boats, brightly bedecked in the UDDs red banners and flags, are attracting applause, and waves of greetings from ordinary Thais as it passes by temples, mosques and riverside communities, all the while tailed by a marine police patrol boat.

What, if any, is the meaning of this hand gesture?

It's supposed to symbolise buffalo horns. Popular with Mr Carabao Daeng before the cult of Thaksin became more widespread.

This does not mean buffalow horns but 'I love you'

Buffalow horns is pink and thumb only.

This topic is about the current red-shirt rally and pictures taken during that rally.

This thread is not the place to upload non topic related images (ie pictures taken during a football match...).

Photoshop manipulated pictures will be deleted and have been deleted

Members who need a posting suspension should disregard my advise....

Thx

If you will note, the photos with the watermark were posted by Monty and were taken by mods and admin of ThaiVisa and at their request, are property of ThaiVisa. Photos posted by members are not watermarked unless they choose to watermark them themselves.

:) Take a river taxi boat up to the Ratchadamnoen Klang area. It's the main site, so best for pictures. Go during the day. Bigger protests are better (safer) than small groups.

BBCNews.com has some excellent pictures and video as well. As well as some really solid background stories, without the spin that we get fed from the Thai press. It's like a breath of fresh air almost.

<snip>

Where is the best & safest place to go to take pictures? Not looking for rioting but would like to get pictures of army, riot police and red shirts. Anything going on near any of the BTS or MRT Stations?

Do remember that your embassy has very likely warned you against getting too close to political rallies in Thailand (and for good reason!)
