Sanyo After Sales Service Abysmal

Featured Replies

This is a post to warn anyone who owns a Sanyo appliance in Thailand what to expect if you ever need assistance from their service centers.

Four months ago I purchased a Sanyo freezer, after three weeks it became faulty so I called the Bkk call center.

They gave me a number to call in Phuket Town. They did not have a refrigeration engineer so they past me on to another service center.

I called them and they told me I would have to take the freezer to the shop,I explained the freezer was full of food and that I could not bring it to the shop.

Their reply was to use all the food then bring it to shop.

Called Bkk again, they called the shop and they reluctantly sent someone to look and that is all he did he opened the lid looked inside shook his head and said have to go shop.I tried to explain about all the food but to no avail.

He just left.

Called Bkk again. About two weeks later they send someone else.

He did exactly the same opened the lid looked inside shook his head and told me to call the shop.

As you can imagine by this time I am becoming a little agitated.

I call and e-mail Bkk again pointing out that I have new faulty product and they want me to use all the food then have to pay someone to transport the freezer on a 60 klm trip to the shop where it is going to take 10 to 14 days to repair.

I ask for a replacement. That falls on deaf ears.

About four days later another engineer turns up with a new thermostat.

I tell him it is not the stat. It is one of the cooling circuits that is not working. He agrees with me but says he has to fit new stat as Bkk had sent it down.

He leaves but says he will call and come back in four days to check it and to repair the circuit.

One week later he has not called back AND the thermostat he fitted is not working either.

So now I have a freezer that is taking 4 to 5 days to freeze anything and the compressor is running full belt 24/7.

Call Bkk again.

That was one week ago and I am still waiting for any kind of response.

IT is now three months since I first contacted them.

So please think twice before buying Sanyo

Sanyo always was a B-brand.

Actually all Japanese brands produced here are very poor quality just 'value for money' for the poor people, but actually not that cheap if you see whay you get. The more impressing stickers on it the worse :)

If you pull the door to open the fridge you get the whole fridge, a 80$ wasmachines that have no hot water, waterboilers that need 30 minutes to boil half a liter of water etc. I have a 5000b Mitsubishi fridge, it's ok for me just a fridge.

I agree big annoyances here about customer service, often a big shame.

They not understand their job.
