Can A Brother Sponsor His Brothers Fiances Trip To The Uk

Recommended Posts

Im posting on behalf of a friend who's fiance has just been refused a tourist visa for the UK it is her third visa application the other two were fine but this one has been refused for lack of finance to support her in the UK.All three applications have been made with my friend supporting her at this moment in time his bank account isnt looking too good (it never has done he lives month by month) and they refused it on those grounds

He is recovering from a broken leg and so his wages has taken a bit of a dip .He is getting married in Thailand in October this year and wanted her to come over and see the members of the family that wont be traveling out to the marriage

So the question is could his brother sponsor/guarantor his Fiances trip to the UK if so how would you word/write the form out accordingly ie would 6 months bank statements from his brother and a covering letter do it and is it right that you can reapply straight away thanks in advance for any help

I don't see any reason why the brother cannot sponsor the application, anybody can sponsor an applicant if they can prove it's affordable and there is a good reason to to do so.

He should provide a letter outlining why is is prepared to provide sponsorship and provide proof that it is affordable, six months statements would normally be acceptable. He cannot guarantee that she will leave the UK at the end of the visit.

Of course affordability is only one part of the application, reason to return is equally important, the applicant should ensure that the reasons in previous refusals are fully addressed.

This might be of help http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/howtoapply/infs/inf3sponsors#Q9

Edit: yes, a fresh application can be submitted straight away.

thanks for your help theoldgit he can use the sponsorship form from the page you sent a link to 6 months bank statements and a covering letter should do it the refusal letter said they had no problems about the relationship or her leaving as she has done so twice before on her last two visas so fingers crossed this should be ok

Without going into egg sucking mode, make sure the fresh application carries all the details of relationship and the reason to return, though they ask you for details of previous apps and can check, don't expect them to cross reference.
