Help Needed - Hotel And Job Info -

Featured Replies

Hi ppl,

I was hopeing some of u may give me some advice on hotels, i may stay for a week or a month i really dont know yet.

Something around the 10-20 usd per night, Safe and secure, girl friendly and as close to the big nightclubs as possible as i will be looking for a DJing job while im there, i play non comercial dance music, i.e All styles of house music like progressive, tech and funky, i also play trance music, no cheesy stuff though.

If you are a club owner looking for someone different then check out my latest review at www.backlashmuzik.co.uk - responsible for the uk debutes of the worlds leading DJ's like Tiesto, Armin van Burren and mauro picotto.

Any help at all is appreciated, thanks in advance :o

Hey Jared, welcome on 'board'. I guess my initial caution would be, maybe it's better to come on over to the City of Angels (Bkk) and kick the tires a bit first (if you haven't already- you didn't say?). Posting in advance is a good idea on it's own, networking and all that but checking it out on the ground is a better preparer. You might want to check out the various DJ orientated sites eg:

Bangkok Recorder

Bangkok Gig Guide

and the list goes on, just do a google.

Hotel in that price range 'near' clubs? Well, lots actually. If you're anywhere near the Sytrain or new underground, that will get you there but plan on taking a taxi back after the clubs shut (times varying from 1 am to ??, it's a loose ever changing 'rule'). Best to bunk down somewhere near mid to lower Sukhumvit. Best kept secret would be 'Street Lodge' hotel on Suk soi 1 (don't know the # but easy to find). 600 baht per night, a/c, carpet :o mini fridge and cable TV, proper bathtubs etc. AND you can use the pool at the now 'pricier' Golden Palace (780 baht) across the street (had some friends who stayed there recently)

Anyways, good luck (chok dee) and let us know how you get on :D

(PS, yes I have an association with Bangkok Recorder before someone cries foul :D)
