Hello all. I have had a sony vaio with vista originally installled but couldnt get ion with it but after a recent holiday in Thailand had windows 7 puy on to it. However I cant get the webcam to work.

Im guessing that it might be a driver or someghing similar. Can anyone please advise...much appreciated...thanks

Not sure if was working in Vista or not from your post (ion). After a trip to Thailand you installed a legal or copy version of Win 7?

Do you see the webcam when you select devices and printers from the task bar? Windows 7 is normally very good at detecting things and getting any required drivers.

Best bet is to go to the Sony Singapore site and download the driver(s) for Win 7 for your model from there

Just choose the closest model to the one you have

I went from Vista back to Xp and the Xp drivers were there so would think Win 7 ones will be too

Everything except the fingerprint scanner worked

I fail to see just what " you could not get on with " in Vista ? A very easy OS and far better than XP. If you cannot get on with Vista then 7 is going to be the same as it is very similar to it. The mind boggles
