Need Either 60 Or 90 Day Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

My 30 day airport stamp expires on march 28th and i was just wondering what would be the best way to go about applying/getting either a 60 day or 90 day tourist visa? is that still possible even though i have been here for 30 days already? I am currently living in Ban Phe, Rayong area doing a course that ends on the 26th of march so that gives me a 2 day window to find something to do. Should i do a border run or will that only get me a 15 day renewal stamp? can i go to a government office and get a 60 day extension for a fee?

Thank you in advance still new to all of this! Oh btw my passport is Canadian if that effects anything

Your best to go out of the country and get a double entry tourist visa, there is no charge for these from the 1st april.

Yes a border run will get you 15 days.

You can't get a 60 day extension at a government office.

You could spend 3 days in vienteinne Laos and get a double entry tourist visa for free on the 1st april, but on entering Laos you pay 1500 bt for your laos visa on arrival, which is for 30 days.

You could maybe go to Cambodia but a mod will give you better advice on that, whatever way you will have to leave the country to get your tourist visa.

A double entry tourist visa is valid for 60 days each entry and at the end of each entry you can extend for 30 days at a local immagration office here in thailand...giving you 6 months in total.

There is nothing in the OP to indicate that Dakotatron would qualify for a 60-day extension.

You will need to obtain double entry tourist visa from the Thai consulate in Vientiane. Apply in the morning Day 1 and collect in the afternoon Day 2. You will need completed visa application form, 2 passport sized photos and fee. Application form can be downloaded from this link which also contains other useful consulate information. You will also need another passport sized photo for Laos visa which can be obtained at the border.

You will get 60 day permission to stay on entering the Kingdom. Before expiry you can extend your permission to stay for further 30 days at Thai immigration, fee 1,900 baht. At around day 88 (day before the visa expires) you need to do border run and re-enter Thailand to activate your second 60 day stay. Then extend permission to stay again for further 30 days at Thai immigration. That would give you nearly 6 months stay.

Thanks extremely useful information this is exactly what i needed! I am going to fly on march 27th out of bangkok to vientaine then find a place to stay then make my way to the consulate do all that jazz then just wait till its done then fly back, should i just buy a round trip ticket and stay in vientaine for 3 days just to be safe? or get a 1 way there then buy another 1 way back? Also would it be possible to fly from bangkok to vientaine get the visa then bus back down to thailand? would it be cheaper that way?

Thanks for all the help guys
