simon43
Is there a private English teacher or language school in Ao Nang? My wife speaks and reads reasonably good English, but wants to improve knowledge of both. She is returning to study a degree course in HR after many years away from university and now is also a good time for her to tackle her English language skills. We have checked up on a few language schools in Krabi town, but both of us were less than impressed by what they had to offer. The best solution would be a 1-2-1 or small group mother tongue (UK, USA, Oz etc) teacher, with study either in Ao Nang or at our ramshackle home a few kms outside of Ao Nang. Thanks for advice! DPG
Hello Simon, I am an American who just arrived to Thailand, Bangkok. I am very interested in Teaching English outside the city center. Allow me to introduce myself: I am a 27 year old accounting major college graduate. I've worked 5 years in accounting including 3 in Shanghai). During my stay in Shanghai (4 years total), I have also taught Business English/Communication for 2 years. I can give references. I am looking for a part-time teaching position. I plan on staying in Thailand for 6 months. I am willing to relocate anywhere the air is clean (relocation costs paid by myself). So if there is a job that suites me, I would love to go. Best, Dan

simon43
Sbk, I have been working in Jomtien for about 1 year, but since my work is writing specialist software, I'm able to work alone and opted to work from 'home' for some of the time. Home for me is not Jomtien/Pattayaa because, as I have stated quite a few times on this forum, I do not really like to live in that town(!). Since the past month, I've been renting a wooden cabin a few kms from Ao Nang. It is a very rural location, but I've installed ADSL, air-con and UBC TV, and now it's a great little home. I fly up to my Pattaya office on a regular basis and chat everyday with my staff by Skype. My location is not divulged to my 'ex' - for my peace of mind Over the past 6 months I have been working late at night after work to develop a philanthropic software application which is now launched and which is attracting investment interest. So I'm hopeful that this year (and those in the future) will be lucky for me and my venture. Simon

Livinginexile
Hi Simon, I just come across this thread. Are you saying you have a new wife? Who's the lucky girl
simon43
The lucky woman is the person whom I met and lived with in BKK for 2 years from 2002-2004, and who traveled with me to England on several occasions, staying in England with me for 6 months on the 2nd occasion. In 2005, I was stupid enough to fall for a 'sexy' BG who - as you no doubt are aware of - subsequently went completely mad, stole all my money, and finally got pregnant by a gay hairdresser from Laos. (You can't make this stuff up...) Early last year, I finally managed to improve my situation with new software employment at a secret location where the ex could not find me. After some months I got in touch with my old GF and we picked up our relationship where we had left it 5 years previously. Our move to Krabi (another secret location as far as my ex is concerned), occurred a few months ago, and was because I have been picking up more software work in the USA. Although money is still tight, our future looks much. much better We have been married 6 months - life is sweet, my 34 year old wife is going back to university again since we now have funds to pay for the fees, I'm busy writing software and - best of all - I am not being hassled by my ex. The sacrifice for my new happiness is accepting that my investment in the Phuket hotel is now lost, but I've got over that a long time ago. I come up to Pattaya every month for business, but otherwise am busy looking after my US software business. To keep this thread OT - are you an English teacher in Ao Nang??? ibark
Hello, I have just joined this forum and i understand you need an English teacher. I have been teaching in Krabi schools for the last 5 years .I also teach courses for The Ministry of Labour and Krabi Skill Developement Centre. I have a full teaching work permit .I live in Krabi so distance is no problem. I realise this is an old post but should you still require the services of an English teacher I would be available in the future.
