I try to feed more than 10 dogs every day at my factory. they were soi dogs when they came no one take them for neuter. if they have puppies workers usually prefer male dogs than female. so we have so many female dogs in my factory.

the point is one of a puppy (will be 1 year old in May), he has walking problem. his front legs look normal, but the vet diagnosed nerve disfunction. He cannot balance himself so he keeps falling down every single day and hit his head on the ground (he needs wheelchair). also he has neck problem (when he was little his head was like bubble head). When i feed him i need to hold the food/water in certain hight otherwise he cannot hold his neck still to eat and he would eating like a chicken.

I am planning to go back my home town, i need to find a new home for him, my place in my home town is apartment and it's too small for him with wheelchair.

I do not think I can find a new owner with full of patience to take care of him. He cannot stay outside all day, he need someone to move him inside when it rains.

If I cannot find a new owner for him, I would rather put him down. but when i asked a vet, she asked me the reason and she refused me to do so. She gave me some dog shelter info and want me to put him at the shelter. I do not think the shelter is a good choice for him.

I need suggestion...please..

hi,

a few questions. is the dog able to walk at all or does he fall down permanently. does he have a wheelchair already? did he receive any vaccinations? did the condition improve or is it getting worse as he is growing up.

is his behaviour normal, eg. playful, interested, affectionate?

This is Thailand, the facts of life as applied here are less western than many of us would like. It is fairly clear that this one dog requires a loving owner that will take care of it. Even monks at Wats (IME) limit their resources for animal care to providing food and a space to sleep. Special attention will have to be paid for - finding a Thai family that will love this dog as he is or do so for a 'fee'. If you indend to sponsor him remotely I strongly suggest finding someone that is able to take and email update pictures to you in return for funding - otherwise call me a cynic but he might be traded for a small plastic bowl before you are cleared to undo your seatbelt and move around the aircraft.

Another thought, if living with other dogs in a pack even in a domestic house - being weak he might be the subject of pack rejection and attacked. A point to consider.

hi cuban, i agree with your post, but the last bit i cannot confirm at all. i got many dogs with handicaps and the other dogs will not treat them differently or even attack them because of that. they are integrated in the packs as any other dog, it is as the other dogs would not even notice that these dogs are 'different'. i can even say that all the handicap dogs are more socialized and have more friends, play, cuddle more than some of the other 'normal' or intact dogs.

as i don't see much hope for a good rehoming for beerdogs dog, i wonder if he would be willing to pay at least for food if the dog got a good place and care...

If you realy like that dog, try first to stay with him in your appartement, maybe it works.

If not you can still consider other solutions.

He knows you now likes you now, why take that away from him?

Give him a chance with you, surely would make him most happy.

no, he cannot stand up at all..he tries to and falls down every day. he hasn't have a wheelchair yet..

yes, he has received vaccinations. His condition won't improve..he was born like..he's a bit bigger than the pic..

i dont know how to describe her behaviour..he cannot walk around so he usually just watch things..but i play with him talk him..

if i am busy to clean his box (he has a big cartion box to sleep) he would bark to get my attention.

yes, that what I am thinking..I would ask new owner to give me the update regularly. the point is ..it is not easy to find a new owner who also full of patience.

my appartment is too small. the enviorment here is better for him...if he stays at my appartment the tile floor is too slippery. he can kind of crawl on the concete floor at least. Also, taking him back is also lots of work like paper work, he needs to quarantin for 21 days..and the finanical problem of his ticket is also my concern....plus, i dont think my family would agree to take him back.

i am so sad when I need to do the decision for him..

He was outside not in the inside with his mother, brothers and sisters..then I just noticed his legs ..he couldnt even had milk..his brothers/sisters would squeez him out..no chance for him..so I just try to take care him until now..he is gonne be 1 year old.

how can I pay for food and to let him has a really good place and really care????? Can they give me update regularly??

oh man i feel so sorry for your dog, as he cannot walk at all :)

thank you for taking so good care of the strays around your factory and especially this one!!

i would take him in (with your support for his food/medicine) and give him good care, but i don't know where you are and if he could go on a flight??

if he would come to me i would put his story on my website and also update you on his life with pictures as often as you wish. maybe there is a way to improve his condition?

Your story is breaking my heart.. I too am leaving Thailand and cannot help you, I am sorry. I have Yin and Yang, Yang died in December last. She was a fabulous dog and even had a litter, unfortunately she was poisoned with rat poison and slowly deteriorated as the months went by. I did everything I possibly could, vets medication, carrying her, lifting the food bowl and generally loving her. Why oh why wont Buddhist put down a dog that clearly would be the right option in this case. Wishing you great luck in re-homing.
