It is possible to get a meter taxi from Phuket Town, but not so easy to find them. Depends on your location. Expect to pay about 300 baht.

Best phone a metered taxi company well before departure and have a taxi sent. Even though it's metered best agree on price before leaving. Or else arrange with travel company for minibus pickup. Be aware that even with firm arrangement you may get a no-show. Avoid the tuk-tuk ripoff mafiosi, they will charge you 500 baht (official posted rate) and demand more.
