how's sukhumvit rd looking for travelling from bkk to pattaya?

Sukhumvit is always busy, why don't you use the expressway? Depends where you are driving from I suppose.

My g/f made the trip today and it took 3 hours, not particularly bad traffic just that the bus detoured round every town it could find on the way back! Unfortunately that has been my experience in the past as well, the trip to Ekamai is usually pretty direct but the other way they do tend to drop passengers off in Chon Buri and somewhere round the back of Sri Racha.

make sure you take an express bus

The road itself is very rough, even though upgraded often over the last few years, very bad considering the quite good highways in the north!...........................Or is it the "shockers" on most of the buses that have finished life?
