Yes,I had a clean and polish B700 about 3 months ago.The place is very clean,I was serviced by a well spoken lady dentist, who did a very good job and took her time.

She did try to push me to see the gum specialist as she thought I may have a problem,I did not do the follow up visit.

Recommended,but a little pricey.

For people who have used this place for dental work (located near Chateu Dale on Thepraya Jomtien) can you comment on your thoughts on the quality and whether the cost is reasonable?

About six months ago I had four teeth cometically bonded. While there are two in-house Dentists, I was taken care of by the aforementioned female. She was very professional; the work was very precise and carefully done. At 1000. Baht per tooth I was very pleased. That's almost 950. dollars less than I had been qouted back in the U.S.

Both dentists speak clear and fluent English for those of you who cannot speak Thai. The office was very clean; the staff was very helpful. In typical Thai fashion, she reminded me to lay of the coffee as it contributes to the browning of my teeth. She told me this as we were standing in the middle of the in-house coffee shop.

I can't speak in comparison to other Dentists, but I can certainly give the Dental Cafe a thumbs up.

i don't rate them....

they don't have all the equipment needed and make mistakes due to this

a friend visited them last year with a cavity, the dentist removed the tooth with no x rays and made no attempt to save the tooth(a dentists real job-especially 1 that markets themselves as cosmetic specialists)

the result was that due to a lack of x ray that would have clearly shown an absess was the cause of the problem

treatment should have been a course of antibiotics to ease the pain and swelling and then a follow up for a fill, they just whipped the tooth out which led to more pain and infection and a length recovery

the best place without a doubt is bkk pattaya dental department, u'll pay more but it's still cheap by western prices and the dentists are top standard, better than most western dentsists

He is expensive and does not warranty his work. I had extensive inlay and crown done by Dr. Girdmee. Within 6 mos, the inlays leaked and the crown failed. I had to have a tooth extracted and will need an implant. All the inlays were redone. My total cost to repair the damage he created will be 100,000 Baht. DO NOT USE THEIR CEREC ceramic system. I am going to take legal action against him.

That is a disturbing story. Sorry to hear about that.

I used them for more minor work, including a crown, and am well satisfied. I would continue to trust for minor work. I wasn't aware dentists generally warranty work in Thailand, do they?

The Cafe does seem more expensive than a clinic, but I think comparable prices to the hospital dentists. I think for really major work, it is probably better to look the the hospital dentists.

Sorry, but I found the work competent.

I don't doubt the guy complaining has a beef, but in all fairness, we are only hearing one side of the story. There may be hundreds of satisfied customers for each complainer, how would we know?

I don't have any serious dental problems and for the minor work I need, they are convenient.

Yes, I am for real.

So you don't like their marketing strategy.

I also find it absurd to market coffee and whitening services at the same place.

But again in all fairness, they just want to project themselves as a relaxed, non-stressful place to get some potentially painful work done. This kind of marketing is seen for dentists in other countries, some people like it, some don't. I don't think is says anything about the quality or lack of quality of the dentists there. It is just a wrapping.

Sorry, but the name means nothing.

Obviously, it offends some people, and attracts others.

The Name means nothing. Right on man, finger on the pulse there then.

Go on Kidding your self, Are, but you can, its not your business is it.!!!!!!!

Professionalism at its best, Fantastic

Bring your Kids to the Café for Dental work you know it makes sense.

Piss off, with a name like that.

The service and care may well be excellent (who knows)

But the name, it says it all for me.

No way. No way.

Marking manager Thaiquila. Give it a rest man, Laugh.

The name is wrong.

Change the name and it would get more business

Good luck to them.

Go back to the beginning of this thread and read all your crappy posts they are all and entirely exaggerated.....the OP asked for advise from the "Dental Cafe" and you evaluated it entirely on a name that you found unsuitable....and it takes you 5 posts to explain how much you dislike it ...that is exaggerating ...one of your silly posts would have done. Now stop drinking and read this thread when you sober again! :D

I know for a fact they get plenty of business. Actually, I think the name and decor works really well for them to draw customers. What the customers find there is a different story. Like I said, I thought the work was fine, but if I had a serious problem, I personally would go to a more serious place. Again, not really related to the name. They just seem to be more focussed on doing a large volume of minor work, easy crowns, fillings, cleanings, whitenings.

I don't like to hear what to me appears to be a decent, ethical, competent business be attacked in an unbalanced way. On the other hand, it would be interesting to hear the legel result of the complaintants case.

The Dental Cafe would indeed be the Mental Cafe is they changed such a winning name.

For those who said get down to the hospital I would say avoid Bangkok Pattaya Hospital.

5 years ago I had 7 crowns in a clinic in Pattaya Klang, last year I went to Pattaya Bangkok to see about some veneers for my front teeth, the dentist examined me and said I needed all of my crowns replacing, no x-rays just a visual exam.

He then tried to pressure me into making an appointment and leaving a 30,000 baht deposit, the total cost was over 400K as quoted by him

Needless to say I declined and went to 3 other clinics and had x-rays all of whom said no replacements were necessary.

I asked all about veneers and one said I didn’t need them that she could give me some white fillings and a bleach, if I wasn’t happy she would not charge me and would then do the veneers, she was the first one who tried to stop me doing work which I found reassuring.

The clinic is on the left side of Pattaya Klang heading towards 3rd road from second road about 40 mtrs after you have passed Soi Bukow, it is called 92 dental clinic from what I remember and of all the people I have recommended no one has ever complained to me.

Two things although veneers look good the dentist has to damage sometimes healthy teeth (that don't look good) to put them on, I think by roughing up the enamel, this put me off after initial enquiries and in fact advice from the dentist. I also wonder what the long term maintenance might involve.

Number two, I have after reading all the boards just started with Dr Arie at Pattaya International Hospital on Soi 4 off second road, utterly charming totally professional and highly skilled, my lady says having had an extraction yesterday 'she gentle she no hurt me'.

I am in the process of having a root filling by her specialist and I have not felt a thing, the costs are root filling 3000bht per root, crown with highest grade gold base 13,000bht (lowest 9,000bht), extraction 800bht, filling 600-1700bht, x-ray 130bht.

These may not be the cheapest prices in Thailand but I believe I am getting a root filling and crown for the price of a crown in th U.S. /U.K. and treatment (and lack of pain) that at least equals the best I have had in the U.K. :o

Bangkok Pattaya have proved to me personaly 3 times that they are more than happy to do very expensive treatment for no reason at all ,although surgical not dental. :D

There have been many other horror stories posted on TV along the same lines. :D

I'd rather take my chances with a dentist with a marketing strategy than a hospital with a profit strategy. :o

Just one question then.

If you are standing outside two bars next to each other ones called the

The wicked Nuns and the other is called the Flying Bottle.

Which one would you go in ?

I think the name does matter what ever your business.

And how would you know if a business is doing well or not.

I can only assume you have more information than just a customer.

Why would that be?

Have a nice day. :o

I would most definitely go in the Wicked Nuns (great name, do they strip?). Others would go in the Flying Bottle. Yes, a different name will attract different clientele.

I have been to the Cafe enough times to notice a steady stream of custom, at least in high season. Haven't perused their accounting books, and don't care to.
