So, the present form of gov't is a democratically elected one, yes? I wonder why Abhisit was going to the U.S.? He said he may have to cancel taking the trip there. Interesting..perhaps to get instructions or aid from a well prepped dictator(who is still illegally occupying the white house) who knows how to handle dissidents perhaps? You best wake-up to the REALITY of the way the world is really running..democracy..what horse shit.

thanks for your mind. case closed. enjoy your perfectly well structured hel_l.

Your welcome..case opened...I am free from the hellish prison-like frame of thought that you and many are still in...frustrating isn't it when others don't fit into your dream-like paradigm of how the world works according to the corporate mainstream media and the bought and paid for university scholars. Maybe you should voice your beliefs to the world elite, one of them may just pat you on the back, smile and walk away satisfied..but there are more like me here and about and our numbers are growing...you are perfectly welcome to voice anything you wish to me. I am at your service.

Most Thais think if they have any sort of power they are gods. It goes from security guards to toxin when he was in power.

This the power of a paid mob. does anyone who supports them really think they are fighting for democracy?

If you do, go back to your womb and stay there a little longer until your brain develops.

If the reds win, welcome to Myanmar meets Zimbabwe.

Regardless, you have an unelected and military imposed gov't in there now;that should not be allowed ANYWHERE!

Ummm no .. what you have in office now is an elected PM that was elected by the MP's of the country. Since you can't get the basics right and can only repeat the lies ... well ..... buh bye

It is time to bring Thaksin back. DO you think if he was a PM he would put up with kind of crap? Some government is better than no government as it is obvious right now

I know you weren't joking which puts your intelligence into serious question. As someone else pointed out, Thaksin is completely responsible for all the current trouble, so put him in power to stop the trouble? Wow, just wow.

hey, i'm glad to hear i still am _allowed_ to voice my opinion - before you, gratefully, bring me to re-education camp of your choice. so, obama is a fascist? thailand is ruled by fascism? & if i disagree... - i've to _ask_ for _your_ permission? 555 ;-)

thank you. in case you didn't know it before... there are lots of people aware. i'd be glad you'd be able to refrain your juvenile rhetorics. grow up, claim your life, engage your skills to make people happy :-)

The main weapon the reds had today was that blatantly doctored clip of Abhisit, and pretty large numbers of people, many of them old, wearing red "Truth Today" shirts. The irony (and shame).

What can Abhisit do against a crowd of aged, manipulated people? Perhaps a PR campaign to explain exactly how this clip was produced may help. Not that it'll may ever reach their attention.

And jatuporn will tell his followers that it's all lies and unfortunately they will believe him. No win.

Wonder what jatuporn's response will be when he'schallenged inside parliamane about this.

I'm optimistic that the day will come when jatuporn and his murky gang will fall adapt, it's impossible that there would not be tension amongst them, they all have their own beliefs and opinions and methods. Concensus is just not possible and If one or a couple of them feel they arenot being listened to or not being respected by the other members of this murky gang, they the pressure cooker will blow!

And/or somebody else will come into this situation who has the clout to say it as it is.

Have you noticed chavalit hasn't been seen or heard for nearly two weeks.

....and where are chamlong and limtongkul and newin and suchinda , and etc.etc..........

seems abhisit is quite hapless now with the thai courts not co-operating.....

is it so hard to dissolve parliament even if the reds are proven wrong eventually?????

would the preference be for blood to flow again.....

save thailand , someone.....

why not have anand return again for the interim period .....

surely everyone knows pride goes before the fall ......

isn't it obvious that some people are blood-thirsty by now?

It would be interesting if the opinions of those that were murdered in the ''war on Drugs and the Tak Bai massacre and of course a prominent Muslim lawyer could voice them.

Indeed Thaksin had and it seems still has his own unique version of DEMOCRACY

In all of my twenty years here I had never seen such a despotic regime like Thaksins regime.

The truth along with honesty and concern for other were not endangered species they were extinct,

Indeed the current rhetoric and actions of the puppet leaders of the Red Shirt Brigade are proving that the exhumation of '' The truth, honesty and the concern for others'' must be re interred post haste forever under their brand of DEMOCRACY.

Good post siampolee. I first came here in 1995 and remember well the fear that Thaksin's premiership inculcated during 2004-2006. Good knows why anyone would want him back, unless of course they thought the 30baht health care scheme was of such great magnanimity that all other social, political, business and human rights abuses should be forgiven.

What's wrong with you sheople here? The point is there is an unofficial, military-installed gov't calling the shots. The reds want a fair and democratic election...regardless who wins.

good point and point taken...."regardless who wins" , especially.

You've been listening to more red propaganda. The courts cooperated by saying their authorisation wasn't required for what Abhisit wanted to do - it has been well overed here and elsewhere.

What Abhisit didn't get the cooperation of today was the police (surprise surprise). It remains to be seen how this will be handled.

Good observation: Chavalit: the snake coward... he will not show up right now but spit his dirty venom afterwards where it inflicts the most of the damage. Guiness record book holder of corruption!

It has sadly got to the point where the Government can not do anything to stop this debacle. I just got in and saw on TV that the Police were pushing forward to the Red shirt stage and Jutaporn ushered them away. They went!!! Who the hel_l is in charge of this country now?? The Red shirt leaders tear up arrest warrants, they tear up court orders and whatever. I thought that this Country was based on 'face'? Well that has just been lost big time. The Government has to grow some balls very quickly or they will lose the support of the majority. Abhisit where are you when the people need you?

Cheers, Rick

Sure, but I understand even more where people like you are coming from.

You do understand the irony of your name on here right?

Another for the ignore list....

I see the irony in a lot of situations and scenarios, especially how farangs living in Thailand can discuss the political situation as if they were in there own native country and how insults are the end result of any discussion. My name is of no concern to you or anyone else and not the issue here. I will continue to comment until you sleepy-heads decide to become conscious-which is a difficult process I must admit.

the present political fray belongs to thais only.

just let it be....

unless of course some farangs are fearless of the backlashes if they want to meddle in thai politics.

remember, thailand has many other innocent farangs too who do not wish to get caught in the crossfires.

Interesting that "freedom4life" doesnt actually exist, he has no profile and never signed an account, I wonder why not, I also wonder why he is allowed to post with absolutely no information about himself provided, (real or made up)

A case of the pot calling the kettle, methinks!

Freedom4life's profile is as comprhensive as yours, brianb1944! Both of you give very little information, but that is your right to do so. Stop nitpicking, and try to join the debate like an intelligent member of the human race.

It appears to me that some of these forum-posters haven't heard of coalitions! What's wrong with a coalition to constitue a majority? It happens everywhere in the world where several political parties are involved. What is there illegal then? Because years ago the TRT and PPP had the absolute majority, these red primates have forgotten that coalitions can be made and formed, fully legal and legitimate, to constitute a majority government.

Red shirts: go back to school... but schools never teach these things: they teach to sing, dance, drum, fitness, etc...

It managed to scare away the cops today!

first, there is a coup-de-etat.

then , there is a pm voted by mps - not the electorate.

one really wonders if abihisit knows his "limits" and want to hang on to something so questionable as a pm post.

being oxford educated, he should know when to call it a day before he ends up with real blood on his hands.

Usual red clap-trap looking to blame the other side for violence it hopes to provoke.

Since you didn't go to Oxford one can assume that your conclusion is that you don't know when to call it a day.

You must be in the Thaksin apologist section which doesn't like to mention your hero's hallowed name.

The other section must be full up.

you have surely drawn the wrong conclusion here about saving thaksin.

thai blo will e flowing , not thaksin.

i sincerely doubt thaksin cares two hoots about other thai people's blood beyond his.

surely there are other thais who will rise to the occasion.

thaaksin is not the first choice at this point in time.

i stand corrected.

Ummm first there was an extra-constitutional caretaker government (Thaksin after he dissolved parliament and couldn't get a government seated after new elections)

Then there was a coup

Then there were elctions that have returned 3 governments from the one election.

Then PPP formed a coalition government (Samak was elected by the MP's)

Then Samak was booted out for lying about money he made for a cooking show while he was PM -- he could have come back to be PM but Thaksin didn't want that

Then Somchai (Thaksin's brother-in-law) was elected by the same MP's as the new PM

Then PPP was disbanded due to electoral fraud -- they had enough time to set up PTP as a shell. They could have dissolved parliament and called new elections. They knew they were getting dissolved.

Then when PPP was dissolved the MP's that belonged to that party mostly joined PTP, some didn't.

Then some parties allied with PPP deserted and helped form a government with the Dems.

I have deleted a couple of posts that are not only off topic, but bordering on personal attack on other members. and seriously - dont bring their family into this.

any such further attempt, regardless of degree of maliciousness, and I wont be this tolerant. your posting rights will be suspended.

emotions maybe running high on both sides, but I repeat, leave out personal attacks, and CERTAINLY their family out of this.

"A nasty little red threat."

Not a " red threat". more like common sense.

Should Thaksin return, ( which I hope not ) I would imagine some wet panties among the some of the posters on here.

Not a threat, merely an observation.
