Hmm..

State of Emergency... Rallies in the north, north-east... TV stations shut down...

These are not so good news, the reds definitely forced the government to act.

But what I am missing is an actual assessment of the situation?

How much protesters in Bangkok?

How much in other cities / provinces?

How much people have been injured in clashes?

Are all Army units still loyal to the central command?

What role will Songkran play in all this?

Will it be an appeasing factor, or a set date for violence?

I now do not see the protests just ebbing out as it seemed possible 2 weeks ago...

They have to come to an end with some kind of cornerstone event.

Last year the cornerstone event was rioting which gave the army a casus belli to crackdown on the reds and to calm the situation down for about 10 months.

The reds claim interference of a "third hand", which created the violence in order to give the Army an excuse to crackdown

(i.e. the reds claimed Army commandos set the buses on fire).

Whether it was the Army or the reds cannot be known for sure.

We aren't there today, but who knows what direction the events will take?
