Hi, I just got my US visa and I just realized that the detailed itinerary I put in my visa application form will have to change, i.e. will go to San Francisco first before LA and not the other way around. I will also need to visit another state, which I didn't put in the form. Will these changes pose a problem for me when I talk to the immigration officials at the airport? Maybe I'm paranoid but will they have access to my application form and see that I totally changed my detailed itinerary? I'll be visiting friends in the US for the first time. Thanks!

Much depends on your country of origin? Flags go up if you're from Yemen or Somalia. Just tell them you had a change of plans and flew to SFO instead of LAX. Once you get past Immigration you're entirely free, nobody checks on you. I would think that traveling to another State should be no problem. Enjoy my country!

it will depend on the immigration (customs & border protection officer)

have your plan and places of visits in order (or advance reservation confirmation number+copies on hand) for any

inquiry. be sure to fill out the arrival customs form#6049 (i think this is the number) properly and do not carry cash

in excess of $10,000 unless you fill out another form #C105 or previous version #4790.

you should be good to go. Safe trip to the US.

Thank you both for your reply. I will take note of your suggestions. It's just that when my other friends (whom I haven't seen in years) learned that i'd be coming over for a visit, they also asked that I drop by. I'm actually considering arriving from Bangkok in one airport and leaving another coming back. Anyway, my ticket would show that I only intend to stay for 21 days, no more as i need to get back to work. I've been hearing horror stories about immigration officials at the port of entry and how they can be very rude and launch into some power tripping.
