Maybe they were shot from the rear by red shirts behind them!

I hypothesize this as a more likely scenario.

I't not impossible. With that crowd a gunshot fired can easily hit someone by accident; stray bullet.

support the liers in government...

All the day government official and police army chief said they use rubbber bullet... in evening after the clash when we can count the dead they said they use real bullet but for don't lose their face they said they shot in the sky... how many police / army was there with guns... how many protest was there with (stolen) guns from police or army... have more chance that stupid bullet come from the army police side...

I stand on what I said about listening to propogandists... Interviewed on AlJazeera or not!

CS

Agree completely CS - I like AlJazeera but yesterday sent them an e-mail about their coverage - seemed to me there was too much emphasis and bias towards the Red Shirts. The foreign reporters apparently are 'embedding' themselves with the Reds (we know how that worked in Iraq!!!) and hearing and seeing the situation from their point of view. The government are doing a very bad job of countering all the lies and propaganda from the Thaksin army but the truth will out in the end....

Even Samak showed more restraint during the PAD protest not so long ago. Nothing more needs to be said really.

No he didn't at all, he publicly ordered a crackdown but nothing happened

Correct! You know that and I know that but the gullible, naive and easily misled red mobs have been very effectively brainwashed by the red propaganda machine...

Like I said the PAD stations may be biased, but it isn't Yellow shirts killing soldiers in the streets of Bangkok, it is REDS. Violently overthrowing the government isn't the democratic way to change things. The way that democracy is being used at the moment I'm not sure why anyone would believe in democracy anyway. It doesn't seem to work particularly well.

Mao will disagree with you; if he is still alive.

Amarin Phachonyut:

"Tear gas responsible for chaos among troops at kokwoa intersection. The chaos triggered a misfire of M79 that drop in the command area instantly killed a commander and fatally wounded 3 others. LtGen. Walit lost his legs.

The troops in the front line thinking they were attack from behind turned around and started firing wounding 20 other officers.

After the mess, Prayuth held a meeting demanding other commanders support him in a coup. They all turned him down flat, and instead demanded he take responsibility for the mess."

Ahhh, a most credible source. the redshirt facebook presence.

Sure, I also have it on good authority that the weapons used by the reds to start the armed battle were in fact molotov cocktails containing only milk and the guns were made of marzipan.

The red thugs holding AK47 weapons were in fact brandishing disguised bathroom mops.

Back in your red box please.

It seems fairly obvious it WAS used. Just look at the most graphic picture of the dead protester with his head opened up with a clear GSW to the skull.

That's one scenario...another might be that a red-shirted country bumpkin with a homemade grenade launcher pointed it the wrong way......

And sewer rat might taste like pumpkin pie, but I'll never know cus I ain't gonna eat the filthy Mofo.

Another scenario might be Thaksin snuck in there personally and double tapped him.

Yet another scenario might be.......oh wait....hmmm. maybe he got shot by a soldier firing live ammunition?

Would that shatter your reality if that was the most probable scenario?

Autopises done by KhunYing PornTit with GT200?

"Pornthip used a GT200 device to conclude that the protester injuries were not caused by IEDs and concluded that faulty tear gas grenades caused the injuries, leading to the removal from office of the national police chief"

And rubber bullet becoming live bulllet in evening just after some peoples died.... All the day they lied to us and all the week was lier in government too specially the one who said he will take full responsability to give full power to army and police to "clean" bangkok from demonstrators...

Today this guy still in charge of government and say it is still the fault of other side... give him some baby powder and put him in bed and sing a nice song to give him a nice sleep... The little mistakes of broken law is the responsability of reds but it's not their fault if so many peoples died because of police or army charge... the fault they have done is sentenced by real short time jail... killing peoples is full live term jail... or nothing if you are in the good dictatorshiped side of politics...

Yes and I hope he remains in power. He has shown admirable restraint.... The only lies are those coming from the redshirt side...

TAN Network: Weera demanded on the stage that PM dissolve the Parliament and leave the country immediately, if he isn't he would be trialed as criminal.

Interesting that some of these fools are still using the big talk, when in reality they should be trying to calm things down a little. :)

As the Red Shirt protests continue at the capital’s commercial heart at Ratchaprasong for the ninth consecutive day on Sunday, UDD leader Jatuporn Prompan vowed to continue fighting and reject any further talks with the government.

“We will continue fighting so that our comrades will not have died in vain, " said the Red Shirt leader. “I reassert there will be no negotiation with a government tainted with blood.” (TNA)

Ohh dear. This isnt really the sort of talk that is going to improve the situation.

I suppose the crackdown of the army is also part of the red propaganda machine ?

I never suggested that Samak did nothing to stop the equally illegal demonstrations back then (they did occupy governement house for months on end) but the fact of the matter still is that he didn't cause the violent crackdawn that resulted in 19 deaths. I still stand by my remark that a goverment that is using the army against their own citizens lost it's legitimacy and should step down.

No brainwashing and no propaganda. I suppose it's convenient to label people who disagree with you naieve uneducated and brainwashed, sort of like the old PAD mantra.

Yet another distorted half truth. The government did say rubber bullets and they used them until the reds escalated to lethal violence. After that the army had every right to meet lethal force with lethal force, and they did. They then also did the right thing and retreated, if they wanted to kill people for no reason there would many many more dead then we unfortunately have.

Equally, the red could say something like "Yet another distorted half truth. The red use stick & stone until the army escalated to REAL bullets. After that the red had every right to meet lethal force with lethal force, and they did. They then also did the right thing and retreated, if they wanted to kill people for no reason there would many many more army dead then we unfortunately have.

The army is our nation fence. They should be stationed all around the border areas to stop foreign enermy.

What's the use off having heavy army bases (not one, but many many) in the middle of Bangkok? If it is not used to fight its own people in the middle of the capital; IMHO.

the reds use live ammo (not rubber bullet at all times) they even use granades and i believe they all have water bottles with kerosine that they throw to the riot police which expains why there were fires.

in my opinion, the police have to use (it's time) live ammo to protect themselves otherwise they will loose this battle.

from the video clips bangkok looks like a war zone now dirty and filty!

Hey darling you really need to look at what you are talking about before you start spouting off. First the Government never said they did not ever use real bullets, pay attention here because you are only hearing what you want to hear. There was a several step process but once the reds escalated the violence to lethal force, the military is fully justified to meet that level of force.

Also your attempt at yet another lie by saying the reds only had sticks and stones is insulting to everyone that has seen the videos of the violence. I suggest you look at those before you continue spreading your blatant lies. the reds had moltiov cocktails, AK47 grenades etc etc.

you are right when you say the reds can also make these same claims but the videos we all see tell the real truth. The reds attacked the army. The reds ahve declared war and continue to do so as well as refusing to negotiate.

Unfortunately with this policy you will get your wish and we will see more of this senseless violence. Open your eyes and tell your friends to go home in peace and wait for the elections. Save some lies and some lives.

I just read this on the wikpedia: Interesting.

The 1992 Los Angeles Riots, also known as the 1992 Los Angeles Civil Unrest,........Thousands of people in the Los Angeles area rioted over the six days following the verdict. At that time, similar, smaller riots and anti-police actions took place in other locations in the United States and Canada. Widespread looting, assault, arson and murder occurred, and property damages topped roughly US$1 billion. In all, 53 people died during the riots and thousands more were injured.

Why would a bunch a peace loving people be armed with assault rifles, grenades, petrol bombs etc. and threaten to use them repeatedly? Exactly, because they are quite the opposite of peaceful, at least a fraction of them, who in return are obviously condoned by the leaders! This kind of setup could have only resulted in one outcome, violence! And who was actively inciting violence? Was it the police, army, government that called on the protesters to haul all sorts of objects, including petrol bombs against them? Last thing I heard they were asked to leave repeatedly in order to avoid a conflict. The red leaders told them the opposite so all it needed was someone with a twitchy finger to let the shit hit the fan and surprise, surprise it did! What did they think would happen? Mob rule leading to the parliament being dissolved - just can't be allowed to happen! Everyone knew that very well.

The militaries job in any country is to protect the majority of its citizens from any threat, either external or internal. Right now the enemy of the people is the reds who have declared WAR on the government. I do not see Malaysia, Burma , Laos or Cambodia attacking the military, but I guess if they did you would have some half baked excuse why they should not defend themselves or the rest of the majority of law abiding citizens as well?

If you took your head out of your tail pipe long enough to research something before you make accusations, you would know that every country has military bases all over not just on its boarders. You are writing a lot of posts, lets hope eventually you write one that shows some wisdom. Peace

The red leaders were the ones who scorned the olive branch offered by Abhisit. They flat-out denied further negotiations, unless he would bow down to their demands and dissolve the lower house in 14 days!

The answer is simple.......

The opposition to the reds shirts continually claim they are paid hands....

Ever heard the phrase 'he who pays the piper plays the tune'?

Apparently these people are easily bought (according to their opposition)....so 3k baht each to return home would not even make a dent in the billions confiscated from Thaksin

He pays for the return home of the protestors.....should you believe he was the cause....then quite ironic don't you think.

Listen, it's very simple: Abhisit offered to had election in six months instead than next year or so. Why the hel_l the reds didn't accept this and been back their home, waiting peacefully for the new elections?

The reds don't want to wait six months!?! Well, okay, here is the price to pay SIMPLY because they don't want to wait: 19 dead, 807 injured.

If their leaders had accept Abhisit proposal all these people will not be dead or wounded. Abhisit tried everything he could to resolve the crisis peacefully, he could not leave a minority of people destroying the country's economy. He had to defend the law and not let the country going into chaos simply because 50000 people can't wait six months for a new election!!! Is this difficult to understand!?!

You want no more dead people? Accept Abhisit proposal and get the fuc_k out of Bangkok! It's just as simple as that.

Not 6 months, but 9 months. And he wanted to swap the army generals first with the ones that support him and also change the constitution in order for the election laws to benefit his party.

Interesting photo in the SF Chronicle:

853f5645-c841-4755-9960-f96c6f552b6d.jpg

What are they trying to hide?

Skytrains' services suspended at all stations

BTS authority has suspended service of all skytrain stations after red shirts leaders called for the protesters to destroy all stations.

Red shirts leaders told the cheering crowds that BTS is servants of Amataya, and urged the protesters to go and destroyed the stations.

Guards of red shirts protesters use black plastic bags to cover security cameras of skytrain stations near Rajprasong rally sites.

http://www.nationmultimedia.com/home/2010/...s-30126917.html

Dunno, maybe they didn't want to be observed 24/7?

But well spotted - It is clearly evidence that the reds are against the law. If you want you can put in in your list why yesterdays action was legitimate and justified. Disrespectful to handicap the big brother to take care of them.

I can imagine many different ways to put a security camera out of order. The non-destructive plastic bags option was probably chosen to protect the cameras from fire water that would follow after the reds start to burn down the city as promised. q.e.d. :)
