Temporary Policy In General

As a result of the great increase in posts about politics, we are currently requesting that members keep the political discussion confined as much as possible to threads open in the News Subforum. Threads in General which are taken over by similar political arguments will be closed until further notice.

Thanks for your understanding and participation on Thaivisa.

I just wanted to add a bit to the above temp policy we have put in place, a little background so to speak

(particularly since even after weeks of requests, people still open lots of new threads on a daily basis :D )

I understand that each of the members that have started a new topic would like to discuss a slightly different angle to the political mayhem. However in the end they all are essentially a discussion of the current political crises and invarably will involve looking at issues such as - whether or not to dissolve parliament, whether or not Abhisit's government are practicing double standards in dealing with the red shirts vs the yellow shirts protesters, whether or not the red shirts have gone too far, etc etc.....

as we have been requesting for the past many weeks now, please do not start more threads to discuss the ongoing political stalemate.

we are not trying to curtail discussions. On the contrary, we want everyone to get as much information as possible, and have a good exchange of views. Hence the request to have discussions consolidated onto a limited few threads, so that they have the most comprehensive background, developments and views

thanks for your cooperation and all your valuable contributions. :)

Those who open political threads in General will now be considered to be posting inflammatory and/or off-topic messages and warned accordingly. If the opening post seems to be attempting to attract attention to links or other off-forum material, they will also potentially be deleted.
