dazzab
A close relative is very ill in the UK and I want her to be able to see my wife and baby one more time. We visited in late 2008 for amonth and had no drama with the visa. But I need a visa ASAP, in your experience how quickly could it be obtained. Would you apply in person or use an agent? Loaded
Do you need to go through the embassy in Bangkok or can it be done through the consulate in Chiang Mai?
iainiain101
You should post this in the visa section. She must apply in person at Regent House Bangkok as the visas are all now biometric. The embassy and Chiang Mai consulate no longer collect the applications. Processing is usually within a week, but Songkran and Bangkok unrest could affect this. 7by7
10 working days is the target, and most visit visas are issued within 3 working days; but at busy times it can take longer. See UK visa application centre for where and how to apply.
sumrit
When my mother died two years ago we went to the VFS office at about one o'clock to get a visa for my wife to travel back with me (she had been to the UK twice before). I was allowed into the VFS office with my wife to explain the urgency (the only time I've known a spouse to be allowed in). A VFS staff member added a note about the urgency to the application then phoned me himself mid morning the following day to say the passport was back with them and ready to collect. Just over twenty-two hours in total.
