Sending A Dvd Box Set Back

Featured Replies

I'm selling a dvd box set on an auction site and its my first time. Everything seemed easy till it got to shipping costs. I have no idea what to put. Obviously the person buying it will want it quickest, most reliable and "cheapest" etc, anyone got any ideas how to do this...? How much should I charge for a dvd boxset roughly if you can fathom a guess. Do I do it through EMS or Thai one? Like I say first time doing this so any advice would be great!

Cheers :-)

I might add that it is a genuine box set not a series in a plastic sleeve.

Ive sent plenty of parcel with EMS, Use the postage calculator on the Thailand Post website.

http://www.thailandpost.com/search_ems_en.asp

I sell things via auction sites from time to time and have shipped all over the world from here. EMS is the fastest, but expensive. An envelope size package from Thailand to the states is about 850 baht, but it is insured and the delivery time takes about 3-5 business days.

Thai post has been reliable (so far) nothing has ever gotten lost in the mail, but the shipping time will take 3-4 weeks.

sheesh that is expensive. My mate just told me that he use to send polo shirts from bkk to uk for about 4o baht and it would take 7 days.. whats going on there..?

Just been on website, so may to choose from...!!! Gonna go for EMS I think, any advice for which service...?

Many options, guessing dvd box set is about 2kg

Thai post is rather cheap. I can send an envelope size package for around 120 baht, but regular delivery can not be tracked. I don't know about the 7 days shipping time. Most packages take anywhere from 3 up to 5 weeks for delivery, but typically 3-4 weeks.

I will be shipping a package (envelope) to Canada on Friday. The cost is 860baht via EMS.

860 baht hey, bloody hel_l, they calculated 2kg as 1900 on website! I cant charge that as shipping on Ebay surely... perhaps just lessen it and lose a bit off the selling price to contribute.

Any advice on which option to choose in ebay regarding the shipping. Once again there are so many and I have no idea which one to choose. I might add my ebay was setup in Uk.

unless its a 20 disc set with booklets, 2kg sounds heavy to me.

ive sent 30 dvds in plastic sleeves to Ireland for about 1000 baht before using Thaipost (small parcel)

if its handy, why dont you pop down to the post office and get them to weight it and tell you the price

You might want to think about sending it Thai post. I have an Ebay account set up in the US, but If I ship something from Thailand, it is specified in the description, so the buyer know to expect 3-4 weeks for delivery.

There are a few options when sending through Thai post. Choose the one that makes the most financial sense to the buyer if he/she is responsible for the shipping fees.

i dont think many people would want to wait 3-4 weeks for items, unless you specify delivery is 3-4 weeks in the auction

also give the buyer options and prices for delivery

make sure you keep the reciept and perhaps scan it and email to them so they know youve posted it
