Internet Based E.mail (e.g. Gmail, Or Yahoo)

Featured Replies

Firstly forgive me is this is a stupid question, I am not very IT literate.

Is it posssible to easily store messages and attachmnts of your own computer.

Advice appreciated.

Just need pop support - believe most web based email clients have this some are free, some are not. I believe gmail/hotmail are free, yahoo is not.

Get gmail, they have offline use

Sign up to Gmail and get the Mozilla Thunderbird email client. It has a wizard to allow for simple set-up with Gmail.

I recommend you get a Email/Web Hosting account. You are then flexible with your Emails and attachments. This is pretty inexpensive...about USD 30 annually and you can have your Email/Web Hosting account and are no longer dependent on commercial email providers. Also, no spying on your account and less junk :-) Pvt me if interested in further information on how to set this up.

Sign up for a free GMail email account(s) and then just set the account up to do pop downloads with whatever Email client/software (i.e., Outlook, etc) you go with. It's easy to see up...just follow the GMail simple instructions for pop download setup. And what is nice you can also use the GMail account via the web-based/internet browser method, which comes in handy when you need to access your email from another individual's/public computer like when you are travelings without your laptop.

Sign up for G-mail.

Then download and install Thunderbird as your e-mail client on the PC

http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/

TB will help you set up to read your g-mail account just follow the instructions.

You will also need to go in via the browser to your g-mail account,

select SETTINGS (top right corner of the page)

Forwarding and POP/IMAP

POP Download - Enable POP for all mail

Once this is done you will be able to read all your mail via Thunderbird and it will be stored on your PC.

Yahoo is free also, just change your locale to Asia and enable POP.
