Pattaya Shrink

NewGuy

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I've got a friend who is an American Vietnam War vet and who needs counselling. He used VA resources in the States and The Philippines but does not know how to get in touch with a Pattaya-based psychiatrist having experience with post-traumatic stress disorder patients.

Any advice here would be appreciated and could lead him to a more balanced life.

Cheers,

NewGuy

OK, someone has got to do it.

This is unfair negative stereotyping of Pattaya, the Thais here and the expats.

Many of the Thais here are wealthier than the farangs, and many of the farangs here are more interested in a relaxed lower budget seaside life than in bonking locals every night.

There are all kinds of people in Pattaya. It is now a big city.

Leave the seafront area and it looks not so different than a lot of places in Thailand, and the famous whores suddenly become not so visible.

Having said all of that, there is a grain of truth about the idea of a shrink in Pattaya. Pattaya is a place where you can work out your fantasies in real life rather than pay someone to talk and agonize about it. It is my understanding that the greatest per capita shrink rates in the world to population are in Wash DC and New York City. Thankfully, I am sure Pattaya does not have that problem!

Interesting one mans plea turns others into vicous dogs, some of which seem to need serious help themselves.

PM me there is a professional military, emergency services critical stress relief councellor in Thailand all of July.

He has an extensive program but for the OP's friend I'm sure we can arrange a meeting and suitable referall for ongoing support.

It's funny how if you had a busted leg or needed sutures.

No Problem!

Some one has an underlying non visible problem and out jump the judgers!

Cruel, sadistic and insensitive spring to mind .

No skeletons in your closet Aye!

Sleep tight one day you might have your own trauma recurring and flash backs to haunt you.

I never burr the needles on the fridge top for pricks

+++++++++++++++

Dude, No I have no skeletons in my closet and the moderator should remove also these silly replies, I never killed anyone and I will never do .....

I will never have a trauma of such a kind, since I respect other people, I live my life in a honest and clean way, and in the night I sleep well, absolutely well!!!!

You should try the recipe:

1) don't kill

2) don't invade

3) don't feel superior cauz white skin

4) don't end up in Pattaya with teenagers

..... mix everything with some hard work and a pinch of fun here and there

and the recipe is made, like in a *** Michelin Guide restaurant

best regards

Chef

Get real, I'm brown an Antipodean and have a family.

Don't kill. I and the family are vegetarians and invade where did that come from.

The OP is asking for advice and you're on some mightier than thou campaign.

Get your feet on the ground. If you have nothing constructive to offer or sensible to debate. Keep your negative comments to your self. Oh! and why would you take a generic comment personally. If the mods want to remove the posts so what some body has to keep things balanced and in context.

You have a nice day & sweet dreams. Enjoy!!

just expressed my general opinion, ......

I'm also in the opinion that you should accept that people can live in freedom and express their opinion like I did.

I didn't offend directly anyone, just said that if you have a normal life respecting the other people life and culture (like me and you do) there is a very little possibility to have the brain fused .... isn;'t it??

Not comments for debate he was seeking help.

Respectfully have you ever witnessed the results of a traumatic accident or been a provider of emergency pre hospital care, no disrespect to you and I mean that sincerely but please understand PTS syndrome can present in patients at any age and the mechanism of injury varies. Brain fused. Please do some research b4 u comment!

Here the reply for the query in the Post: nothing to DO in Thailand, they do not cope with such kind of problems. PTS is uncurable. In Thailand the local hospitals consider this sickness as madness, or brain fused. PERIOD

Regarding both of us, nobody didn't even ask for ur comment either!! Isn't it??

No need to defend anyone. May be if you wish to defend somebody, just fly to California and try on Michael Jackson!!

My anger is because (but you silly guy don't understand it) I'm sick and tired to see all those ex US Army dirty old men, walking up and down Pattaya screwing teenagers or kids. Plenty of Viagra to satisfy their worst perversions.

Probably the guy we are talking in this post is an angel, but in general all ex US Army in Pattaya are there just for one reason, even if few of them change (and in this case they move somewhere else in Thailand).

News every day highlight jumps from balconies of ** hotels in Pattaya, this look to be the easiest way to cope with PTS .....

I hate people who screw the weak people.

OT AND GENERIC POST, NO MEAN TO REFER TO THE INITIAL POST,

SO NOW YOU HAVE THE REPLY TO THE QUERY (THE ONLY ONE SO FAR IN 11 POSTS TO HAVE GIVEN A REPLY NOT OT) AND YOU ALSO UNDERSTAND WHAT I THINK ON THE GENERAL MATTER .....

peace

Looks like even more cleaning up is needed. Geez, dude69, get a clue from the admin post.

My Point

There will be an expert here all of July any one who feels they need help in this area, common sense prevails you know what to do.

Gentlemen you are entitled to your comments, I am merely offering up a solution and you are correct the OP didn't ask for my comments. I fell into the stupidity trap of responding to comments that were deemed unfit and removed.

I rest my case. MP5 out

Thanks to all concerned and constructive responders. I'm trying to gently shove my friend into an internet cafe to read all messages and consider the Bumrundrad option (unlikely) or send a pm reply if he wishes to go forward.

As noted, Pattaya must be right up there as a challenging place to come to terms with one's co-dependant ghosts (manditory psychobable).

Thanks.

I know there's an AA chapter in Pattaya -- they may know of a qualified professional. They get all kinds of people through the door -- some of whom don't belong in AA but need professional help -- so they have many contacts in the wider community.

I can not even begin to imagine the horrible things this fellow saw, engaged in, went through, survived etc. But he probably did so at an extremely young age, not to mention, he probably did not want to go there in the first place. I see him as a victim. The trauman to his brain/soul etc I am sure is real. I pitty him more than anything, and I count my lucky stars, my generation escaped such a horrible situation.

I have a friend, Ex Viet Vet who has the same problem. He is being treated by Dr Somchai at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital. This Doctor is approved by the the US Govt and if he has a Ex Vet pension the US govt will pick up the tab for visits and medicne. New Guy you can always PM me for any further details.

Looking at some of the replies on this subject perhaps they could also do with treatment, except they wouldnt have the GUTS to admit it. Good luck with your friend. :o
