Growing Lavender.

Featured Replies

Has anyone tried to grow Lavender in Thailand? If so, what worked and what didn't? What's the preferred gowing medium? Semi-shade or full sun? In the UK lavender seemed to benefit by going dormant during winter. Any thoughts?

I came across this link when I was considering growing Lavender in Thailand. :-

I think your problem is going to be too wet & too humid, plus lack of dormant period.

Why not try a few different experiments and let us know how you get on.

Cheers & Good Luck.

Thanks for the interesting link, Ken. About what I expected, but at least I now learn that the "Lady" variety is worth trying as an annual. I'm not interested in commercial growing - would just like to have a few garden plants.

I think you should be trying some in pots perhaps on a balcony or under the eaves where they don't get too much rain.

Well drained potting mix, with plenty of sun.

Beware of bugs

Good Luck and I will keep an eye open for the 1st photos.......... :)
