The Abc run a doc every Mon nite called Australian Story.

Last nite they ran a story about a racehorse breeder , Peter Andrews.

This guy has beaten the drought on his farm.

It maybe of interest to anyone interested in farming in Isaan.

Like I said, maybe.!

It's a 2 part doc, I don't know if it's available on ABC Asia Pacific.

Sounds good udon. :D

Are there any other websites with info about his achievements?

I note that one of the Guest Book comments was that basically he built a series of dams/weirs along an existing old creek line... it this the fundamental background of the theory?

If so, it would be a bit more practical that shouting at Thailand from England (or wherever) to go out and re-forest the shoreline after the tsunami! :o

Here's a transcript of the prog, it doesn't take long to read. :o

I don't know about other websites, he concentrated on his own farm, then his neighbours asked him to help them.

Nope, but there is a throwaway comment about a guy with similar ideas on that Aus Story site. :o

ps, your employers have been in the news lately :D

I don't have a VCR in Sinny, (2 in BKK!) is there anyone who is in NSW who could tape the repeat on Saturday @12.30pm, and part 2 on Monday nite @ 8pm???

TIA

So how was Part 2 udon?

Good, except for the Old Dragon coming home early and yapping , I missed a little.

http://www.abc.net.au/austory/default.htm I can't find the transcript yet.

Bottom line was, as a result of part 1, a consortium has been formed and he now has firm financial backing.

They are concerned that he may die before passing on his knowledge of "reading the land" to other younger farmers and scientists.

He........ is not a scientist.

It appears that he is trying to put his land and creek back to the condition it was before the early settlers got at it, made me remember the willow lined brook full of trout in the small country town I spent my childhood in. That was before they declared willows a noxious tree and cut them all down ,then they dammed the brook for irrigation, now its a muddy drain in a mars like landscape. He is doing something great for the environment, the rest of us only have the memories
