RamdomChances
Depends what you like and where you are coming from, in BKK and the tourist areas you can get most things at a price. I usually get people to bring me over Branston Pickle, beef stock cubes cant think of much else. A lot of people bring their own tea bags and for me a real treat would be some nice selection of cheeses and cooked meats , chocolate and cookies might be good as well and I sometimes fancy some pickled beetroot but no ones been brave enough to bring any

Kerryd
Well, my skidoo (snow machine) and other winter related items would be pretty much useless. I would like my cordless drill set though, once I found a power converter. Most everything I would like I can already acquire here. I guess the only thing I would bring would be my HOCKEY GEAR ! It's funny that. Two of the only shops in Thailand that do these weird and wonderful English foods are within 30 miles of each other. Mine in Surin and Matty's in Buriram. So many people usually come up with these foods they cannot get in Thailand, when it is just as accessable and probably cheaper than back home. Take cheese. So many people cannot get good cheese. Well I stock; Edam. (holland) Gouder (holland) Camenbert (denmark) Brie (denmark) Danish Blue (denmark) White Cheddar ( processed, Thailand) Yellow cheddar (NZ) Red cheddar. Ark
I"m interested in this one. When I came to Aus shores from Kiwiland 25 years ago it took Aus about 7 years to get Watties baked beans and took me 20 years to find a good BBQ sausage (from a Chinese butcher). I"m hitting LOS next week and agree with some posts already. My wife tjhought I was weird sending over some of my tools (are tape measures in Thai), a breadmaker (why is all Thai bread sweet?) and my DVD player (cos the books in English). Agree wiith the Boag beer. Only discovered it last year, but think a good Hunter Valley Merlot is better than Shiraz. Tossing up whether or not to include a bottle of Hardie Sir James in my bag though. If I brought it I would have to share it with my Thai B in Law who thinks wine is for women and I hate to waste it. duke69
Had the same problem and made mistakes, so now I think I would bring with me: 1) some cases of good vine (about 50 bottles), used for gift, when invited from friends, an important colleague, ..... 2) Espresso Automatic Coffe machine, .... but I'm Italian and addicted to coffee 3) a good set of INOX high quality pots/pans, the "imported" ones are very expensive in Thailand, and Thailand has the only INOX steel in the world which can rust!!! 4) Bed blankets (very expensive in Thailand) 5) something for your hobbies, like tools, electronics, .... 6) 12 bottles of whiskey (good one, which is indeed very cheap in the UK), you will realize soon that a bottle of whiskey as gift will open many doors ...... 7) mainly you have to bring things which are very expensive in Thailand and with the highest quaklity, commodities are very cheap in Thailand (beer is a commodity), while good quality stuff are bl oo dy expensive. ciao and welcome
