Maybe he was here on holiday and for some reason didn't have his camera (left in the room), couldn't take photos (had his woman with him or maybe too shy), or the ones he took didn't come out too good (if he doesn't use a digital camera)?

And you're right, there are plenty of them on the Internet. Unless there is a specific place he is interested in, just check google images for "soi reggae".

Or his camera was stolen by his overnight k-toy visitor.

Maybe he is short on money and won a ticket Copenhagen-Samui-Copenhagen and could not afford the room and therefore strolled along there at the only night on Samui before heading back to CPH.
