Can anyone tell me what standard (PAL, NTSC) the Thai tele system runs on, and also any other information I may need for making a DVD in the UK and playing it in LoS?

The Thai video standard is PAL, same as the UK. Of course, most players and TVs are multi-system, so a NTSC disc would be ok in most circumstances.

Thailand has the PAL system, like the UK. If the disk plays in the UK, it should play in LOS too.

Most players bought in LoS are multi-standard and multi-region, they will play anything PAL or NTSC. When playing NTSC they do a cheapie transcode to a standard called PAL-60 which most PAL TVs understand.
