News reports are that he has died.

This murder will prove to be the beginning of the end for the current Thai government.

No that was way back in April.

Yes you are right

This Government must end now

In just over 18 months time, or maybe a little sooner

Didn't this crap start when the military removed an elected government from office?

Yes and they tore up the constitution too- not such a good idea really!

No that was a solution to the problems at that time

It started way before this with a currupt government

Its impossible for another Army person to fill the role of Sae Daeng. His bamboo barricade technique was unconquerable and he didn't teach anyone the method. Nope, there is only one Army man who can lead a group of terrorists. The battle is over now. We can rest easy.

a convicted military/ civilian in jail will die slowly................................................ an assasinated political figurehead will live on as a mrytr. BAD.

Messsage sent to the next leader................... tow the line ( and become very rich ) or ....................................pay.

I pray daily for the king and the good people of Thailand.

I feel international buisness was starting to be affected. khun big said " no more bad busisness"

and about a few tyres and sticks........................ someone was mounting a severly misinformed attack.

I have taken my buisness to South Africa. Cheap labor, no problems. Well those pesky pirates.............

I will return to my beloved Thailand in 1-2 wks. :):D:D

that is really funny the avg s.a. spends around 50% of income on security because of all the crime.

Thailand is at the brink of civil war and all you can think of is making money selling T-shirts. :)

Do I have to use brainwash tactics to get your civil war propaganda straight.

THERE WILL BE NO CIVIL WAR. EVEN REDS WHO SUPPORTED THE REDS BEFORE LEAVING AND LOOKING AFTER THEMSELVES. THE REST IS HIGHLY CRIMINAL THUGS.

CLANDESTINE FIGHTING WILL EMERGE, BUT THAT WILL BE ON ANOTHER CHAPTER.

I agree, the reds are a minority(small). A very large majority want all this to go away, and return to the land of smiles.

Just an update. Thai News has just said that several red shirt guards have been admitted to hospital. It appears that the water supply has been poisoned.

Shooting this guy in full view of the international media was an incredibly stupid thing to do, and it won't solve anything. The reds are armed to the teeth, with a gun in almost every Thai house. Driving this conflict underground by shooting people has far reaching consequences that are too awful to contemplate.

The only way out of this mess is through dialogue, democratic process and unbiased justice.

J____C____! This is the 2nd or 3rd video (Ref. grenade injuring/killing people two weeks ago in Silom) where crowds, including photographers crowd around like flies around people that need medical help. Meanwhile, it slows down getting to the emergency ward. Any common sense? (I guess not since Thais don't even pull over for ambulances going down the streets.)

Let me get this straight ...Thaksin's extrajudicial killings of drug dealers were fiercely condemned by the Democrats. Now the army has shot a General in the head while he was giving an interview to an international media reporter.

I assume he was given a fair trial before he was shot?

Who said the Army shot him..? Little Jonnie could have shot him... I could have shot him, an angry girlfriend could have shot him... could have been an accidental shot.... maybe the reporter shot him.... JFK could...... No he could not have...!!

Well said.

The Army shooting people has not solved the problems in the South, it has made things worse

If you remove the reds from Rajaprasong tomorrow and use brutal force, I think you can be sure that bombings and shootings will rock Bangkok every week for months and perhaps years to come.

Thai's work on the principle of "an eye for eye".

This all stated with the PAD in 2006 followed by the illegal coup, and it will get more "tit for tat" the longer it goes on.

After having a bullet through the head I am surprised Sae Daeng is still alive, I presume that they have him on a heart pump and respirator, desperate not to let him die and become a martyr.

In other words he is likely dead, but machines will keep him alive rather than have to deal with his murder.

Shooting him in full view of the international media was a crazy thing for Abhisit/Suthep and the Army to do - if it was them who ordered it and they would be the most likely suspects given they have openly said "live anno and shoot to kill".

Sad state of affairs, how many more must die today and tomorrow to support the Elite/PAD desires ?

When I woke up this morning, I was dreaming all of Thailand was screaming for help. In the dream, it was depicted that God can only respond to prayers and that 'someone else' handles 'complaints'.

I was wondering where this vision could fit in TV....

What about in the hospital rooms of these twisted and injured men clinging to life?

Many Posters decry the accuracy of Wikipedia. Wikipedia states that Thailand is Nation of 95% Buddhists. That is SO obviously NOT true. Buddhists abhor violence and relinquish greed money.

People; don't trust ANYBODY who owns private jets! They are the brain washers of yellow AND red supporters.

THEY want your help to put them in Seats of Corruption.

Killing red and yellow crocodiles is NOT going to drain the swamp!

The Joseph Solution and The Joseph Plan would bring Stability and Peace to the Kingdom within weeks. Thaksin AND Sondhi would be presented with offers they could NOT refuse. They would BOTH have to tell their armies to cease and desist.

Sorry to tell you this, but both The Joseph Solution and The Joseph Plan have been cancelled this month due to lack of interest....

Tele says he is on life support

Have just seen video (delayed)of something with trails being fired from the red camp and there are reports of M79's (5) hitting the hotel opposite.

I guess you can't blame the reds for this one. Time to start rounding up the yellow shirt leaders for attemted murder.

Indeed, Thais most certainaly work on the principle of an eye for an eye.

Abhisit and Suthep will be most likely be assasinated (by the pros, not the amatuers) as a result of their own stupidity by ordering the killings.

Disgusting some of the posts on here claiming how "good it is" for someone to be shot.

Som nam na........ the word good, is not good enough in this case....

Its comments like this that make me ashamed to be a part of the human race.

Interesting how the reds deny everything on their own side.

But jump right in when it suits them.

Notice how the 'most likely' phrase is there to disguise the 'I wish'.

Also note how the reds go 'ooh, this will make things worse' as if any of the red actions are intended to make things better.

One thing is clear.

the red numbers are in decline.

That's better.

The number of disgusting posts here cheering assasinations, posionings and murders sure says a lot about the mindset of the posters.

When the protesters cheered the murder of the woman killed at Silom and when they cheered the deaths of police and soldiers it said alot about their mindset. Seh Daeng was killed using his own tactics against him. He isn't a civilian, he is leading an armed rebellion against the government he swore to protect, other soldiers have been executed for treason for doing a lot less.

NYT link http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/14/world/asia/14thai.html?hp

eyewitness report by NYT reporter

no "eyewitness" report at this link...

Uh, yeah. Except for that the reporter who wrote the story was 2 feet away from Seh Daeng when he was shot, and was interviewing him at the time. So, yeah, not eyewitness except that it is. Try reading the whole story next time.

Good video stories on the New York Times story, too. I also found some good video reports from these latest developments on the BBC and Al Jazeera English sites.
