Foreign Journalists In Thailand Are Risking Themselves Big Time!

Featured Replies

I’m always a fan of those brave men and women who dare to risk their lives scouting for news firsthand. BUT, at this point and as it will always be, Thailand rallies are not good venues for foreign journalists because their lives are not respected but targeted.

When tension escalates, I always feel that the rogue elements see them as scapegoat. Once their lives are “accidentally” taken while they are out there covering the event, that becomes big news - news to be used to propel anger and solicit sympathy.

Come on, they are eyeing on you! Just stay away! This is Thailand! Get news where you won’t be used as sacrificial lambs; but, if you really want to be one, go on.

On my part, I cannot count it as bravery anymore. Hey, I am just concern here.

Bit of a pointless post IMO - that's their job, they volunteer for it and a lot of them actually enjoy the buzz of working in such places - what they do is up to them not us.

News is news - some is easy to report some is dangerous, but it will go on whatever happens.

Please keep politically tangential topics in the news threads.
