Dtac - Cannot Be Called, Callout 1/10 Works

Featured Replies

Strange, am I the only one?

I tried on two different phones, I can get SMS without any problem but receiving calls from domestic or international numbers come through 1 once every 10 tries.

Making calls are very difficult as well.

I would appreciate if anyone else could report whether they have this problem as well or not. I am on Sukhumvit, not far from Onnut.

Same issue near Nana on Sukhumvit

Could someone please report to dtac and ask them to fix it?

Could someone please report to dtac and ask them to fix it?

I tried but they are overwhelmed with calls, I was sent to their voicemail (I called from my landline).

Strange and unsettling

It could quite easily be a power issue to local cell sites. If some of your local cells are down, all traffic will be routed through other cells which will cause them to become overloaded and that's when calls fail. As far as incoming international calls go it could be any number of reasons other than that.

With SMS, when it goes from your phone it does not mean it has gone to the recipient .... even if you get a delivery report! All the report means is that the network has picked it up (it is delivered to the sending network .... your network). SMS carries no priority on a GSM network as it's built into the network and costs nothing extra to run.

In normal circumstances the network will be aware as soon as there is a fault on any part of their network, fixing the fault can sometimes be a legnthy process and if it's in an area affected by the current protest situation it may well be too unsafe to send engineers to repair it.

Hope this helps
