Thaksin Calls For Political Dialogue, Denies Involvement In Mayhem

Perhaps this blog will get deleted by admin but this is the network of corruption attached to Thaksin. I hope it is read by all to understand the far reaching affects and how certain businesses remained untouched in Thailand when the mayhem died down. This will provide that answer. Similarly, I will never again buy fuel from PTT, have any financial dealing or support through my patronage, of any of these businesses. I have changed my phone provider today and will hope that all who read this, in our small way, will make a conscious decision to ban any future dealings with these people - for the sake of my family and our future here in Thailand. Thankyou Skywalker69, that is one of the more useful poast I have seen on this board.

Since the entire Shiniwatra clan is under the finacial freeze orders, I really wish this government would play just a little, and issue a search warrent for Pojaman's home, and staff the search crew with unemployed workers from World Trade and other buisness that are no more. :D (They do need the work).

I sure the could do a intense and detailed job of looking for any evidence. :)

Who know what they might turn up with??

One of the most lasting and most despicable results of the Red engineered rallies is the harm done to regular folks trying to make a living in Bangkok.

The Shinawats and their friends who funded the rallies should have known the immense harm that would ensue from the actions they were funding. The Red leaders should have known also. The demonstrators themselves wouldn't have known, because they can't think beyond the end of their noses.

The fact that hundreds of regular people put out of work during the demonstrations is bad enough. Yet, with the riots and burning, now those folks plus thousands others, are facing dire situations. No work, no inventory for their stores/stalls, not being able to pay rent and other financial obligations. Many will be forced to leave their rented homes, and their children will suffer at least as much - taken out of school, not enough food, not enough money for basic things like clothes, toiletries, tuition, etc.

To Thaksin, the Shinawats and your buddies: THANKS A LOT - for inflicting so much suffering on those people. .....and that doesn't include the residual harm that will reverberate throughout the Thai economy for years, maybe decades to come.

I read that Thaksin is heading to London next, I would hope that they would arrest him there and deport him to Thailand. His wife should also be arrested if she returns to Thailand. They ought to stand trial for supporting terrorism and directing it. If he is innocent let him prove it, if he is guilty let the government present its evidence. Thaksin has spent enough time hiding abroad using fake names and purchased passports. His corruption was bad enough, but the ruin he has brought on his own country is truly horrific, what an evil man.

Shut the hel_l up Taksin- this man loves to create attention around himself.

Wonder what he will do when no one gives a dam about him again. Men like that would prefer to be dead... Thankfully.

Pay no attention and he will disappear.

Let the authorities bring him to justice and sentence him as the terrorist he is... nothing less.

'Course it is.

nice speech, he is a real man , he kept his word, at least in a coutry where it's rare to do so .

Maybe you're saying that tongue-in-cheek as in 'he kept his word' about burning Thailand.

But in reality, he's not keeping his word about 'taking responsibility.' He, like all the other Red shirts in jail, will squirm so much as to make worms jealous, while trying to weezle out of any responsibility for the problems they actively fomented.

yeah, next it was a figure of speech or a quote from someone obscure in history. I'm sure sooner or later, he'll get sorted out. Ol' Thaksin never really got away, looks over his shoulder, lives in misery, developed cancer and has rapidly aged. For some, remaining alive is the most suitable punishment.

The Farang did it.

Takkie Shinegera , he has a new passport in different names if the gossip is true , he has one from Montenegro as a citizen which gives him EU access.
added that the fugitive former leader had temporarily left Paris for London.

My understanding of the British Embassy in Montenegro website is that he would STILL require a visa to enter the UK on his Montenegrin passport and in light of his previous visa revocation to the UK, I think it's unlikely, in reality, that he ever made it to London.

Whatever the silly things that posters are putting on here, the redshirts have changed the landscape. The government can only suppress a mob for a short time. The government will now have to really address the grievances of people from the North who, of course, live in massive numbers in BKK too. If they do not, they will lose any election, and there will be frequent yellowshirt actions at the airport

The Thai elite think that they are masters of the universe entirely due to their own abilities. Only when their businesses are severly hit by massive drop in tourists will it hit home that they are dependent on EVERYONE in the country being content with their lives. In the west capitalism realised that hundreds of years ago

Upcoming big headline:

Massive Class Action Lawsuit Against Protest Bankrollers

In what's shaping up to be the biggest class-action suit in Thailand's history, businesses and persons adversely affected by the recent rallies will sue the perpetrators. Though former PM Thaksin is the most prominent paymaster, there are a slew of other rich Thais who paid to maintain and prolong the protest. Plaintiffs will show that Thaksin and his family and friends tangibly contributed to the damages which afflicted parts of Bangkok, as well as thousands of people who lost their livelihood, and hundreds of businesses which were damaged and/or destroyed.

- - - - - -

I was thinking about Thaksin's new law team, Amsterdam et. al., and was reflecting how they'd probably love to see a giant bunch of litigation regarding their client. The lawyers win, no matter what the outcome.

It brought to mind a quote from the Larry Flint movie starring Woody Harrelson. Flint was a millionaire publisher of a popular xxx girlie magazine in the US. When Flint's lawyer gets so frustrated and threatens to leave, because Flint is so corrupt, the Flint character says with a smile:

"You can't leave. I'm the perfect client. I'm rich, I'm fun, and I'm always in trouble."

except for the fun part, that description fits Thaksin to a T.

The same prison the red shirt leaders are currently ...uhm ...suffering in?

Saw the video footage of the Red Leaders confinement at the military camp in Phetchaburi as depicted above (an important distinction is that it is NOT a prison) and yes, hopefully it's only temporary and that once things are settled, they are transferred to an actual prison where the accommodations are much more in tune with the crimes they committed.

of course he denies it, like everything else he's done. best choice for him would be to not comment on it at all. i think he starts to forget all of the things he said on video.

A genuine, but highly debauched, selfproclaimed "hero",

turns his back towards those inveigled people who died for him,

he used so shamelessly for his very own, selfish cause!

When will they understand, that they are so badly being used and then dumped?

.... it's not over yet, he won't stop until..... again he was so close, very, very close!

Here an excerpt what former PM Mr.Chaun has to say about this:

Former PM Chuan Leekpai Says Bangkok Violence Pre-Planned Abroad

BANGKOK, 20 May 2010 (NNT) – Bangkok violence was pre-planned abroad, according to Democrat Party chief adviser and former Prime Minister Chuan Leekpai. Mr Chuan said on Friday that riot in the capital this week was ordered from overseas, by someone who wanted to take back his power. He was certain that the riot was not spontaneous reaction by anger protesters but planned by some people who targeted to destroy national economy with their attempts to persuade the global community to believe that the government was unable to control the situation. The former Prime Minister and veteran politician stressed that public sabotage and riot was instigated in a bid to seek foreign intervention in Thailand's internal affairs.

He blamed "state violence and human rights abuses" for the loss of life.

Oh, I see....like the state violence and human rights abuses he perpetrated on the Thai people during his reign?

Hypocrite.

In addition to authorities tracing the flow of funds from Thaksin to the Red Leaders, I would also suggest looking into his involvement in the Thai-Chinese rice milling cartels chiseling the rice farmers out of a fair market price - a major complaint by the Red farmers. I would not put it past him, that he orchestrated the milling cartel's unfairness, blaming it on the gov't, so as to generate unrest and recuit clueless farmers to his "cause" (revenge).

Apparently there are interview records where Thaksin was not very guarded in his commnets and the government will use these as evidence. Of course everyone knows he is behind it all but proving it is another thing andf Thaksin never was a man to accept responsibility for his actions

In the west capitalism realised that hundreds of years ago

That is a utopian fantasy sold by Uni professors as a hypothetical,

that some students want to be come real. Not the brightest students.

Capitalism didn't 'realize' anything, it is simply a method of economic management.

There is no society on earth, where all people in the country are content with their lives.

Capitalism brings you the CHANCE to make the most of your life, not a guarantee.

You have to do it, and waiting for the free handout isn't gonna cut it.

Yes, the politicians will have to address issues in Issan. But in a practical way,

not with splashy band aids, and showy feats of PR as Thaksin did.

And REAL education to create creative thinkers is needed, and not the 'string them along'

kind Thaksin called improvements. He kept in place a land of compliant, subservients,

while making them THINK they were getting an truly improved life. The Thaksin political

machine, didn't need thoughtful independent voters, just the opposite.

The reds have dropped tourism to the nub, but the elites they are screaming at

will just get on with less profits. But they will still go on. And they still create more jobs.

This riot did NOTHING constructive for the people of Issan. NADA!

It did prevent more money from being used earlier for Issan,

because reconstruction will be costly, and tourism will be lost

and so slash the workers from Issan that support tourism.

If you want to lobby for a much higher minimum wage go for it

No complaints here.

I know many, and because of the reds, they are VERY MUCH at risk of losing jobs,

because their bosses are losing money badly enough to need to cut back or close down.

Not the big places just the hundreds of little ones that support thousands of of people.

The red shirt leaders haven't really hurt the elites anywhere near as much as

the workers of Issan will be affected because of their mad post rally actions.

I join all Thai patriots in their immediate call for calm, order and non-violence, and fully condemn the actions of those who acted with opportunism and impunity to cause reckless damage to Bangkok, which is completely alien to the cause of the protest movement," he said in the statement.

'Course it is.

/edit - nice shirt Nattawut is wearing. Where can I buy one (and live)?

He denied his involvement with "any illegal or violent activities in the Kingdom of Thailand".

But in a practical way,

not with splashy band aids, and showy feats of PR as Thakwsin did.

The reds have dropped tourism to the nub, but the elites they are screaming at

will just get on with less profits. But they will still go on. This riot did NOTHING

constructive for the people of Issan. NADA!

It did prevent more money from being used earlier for Issan,

because reconstruction will be costly, and tourism will be lost

and so slash the works from Issan that support tourism.

Thanks for posting this Animatic. 100% accurate. The Red TVers will answer by saying "but the yellows...etc" :)

What the yellows did was bad but what the reds have done now is way way off the scale. Only a complete indoctrinated fool or lunatic would ever use the "but the yellows" arguement again. The yellows did not indulge in a pre-planned terrorist attack on a city and although the yellows did have some armed guards they did not have a facist militia aremd with heavy war weapons as the reds did. There is no moral higground anywhere for the reds in this. They are now simply a terrorist group identified as such by the very words of their leaders and their actions. Unfortunately within the movement there are alkso a lot of good meaning people (some indocrinated by single source indoctrination terchniques and some not) with legitmate demands. These peole and demands need to find a legitimate and non-facist leadership and govbernment need to listen to them

I see thew reds are planning another demo in BKK in June. I wonder if it will be banned. I wonder if Al Qaeda are allowed to demonstrate in London and New York

Standard Thaksin playbook. Cause havoc and death anbd mayhem. Deny involvement. Call for forgiving him so it doesnt happen again. Whne he doesnt get his way more and worse violence.

Red leaders already admitted getting money form him and now reportedly Veera has admitted he advised them. As red leaders called for Arson attacks there is enough to exclude him from anything. Thaksin is part of the problem and not part of the solution.

As Thitinan in the Guardian said Thaksin needs to make a sacrifice by withdrawing from the red movement. It seems small chance of that which in turn is going to tie the governments hand too. Interesting to see Thaksin has made the first move to put him center stage in what comes next - no surprise there. At what point though will the red movement or at least part of it really move beyond Thaksin rather than just talk about in press conferences while actually keeping himn center ot every speech they make and taking the money from him and his minions

Edited to add: it also plays to the meme his spin doctor will try to create internationally. If the government can show a financial trail to the reds then they can ask for extradition for terrorism now. Thaksin is being deliberately divisive with his desccribing a movement whose leaders called for mass arson heroic.

100% agree, and not only that.

He has now, yet again, placing himself above the red leaders, and back on his Puyai perch.

No longer a phrae, and just as these guys are looking at SERIOUS jail time or worse....

And he hangs them out to dry.....

I wonder how much that is worth in the frozen bank accounts the wives can't touch now?

I wonder how many of the red leaders will be happy he morally, publicly, and financially deserted them

when they face the noose, or at least ending their days in a deep barred hole of their own digging?

Should pry a few more cash transactions, bagmen with stories to tell, and paper trails out of the woodwork,

when the rush of their time on stage as 'masters of the universe' fades away, and they are just

isolated single men, looking into a dark tunnel of their fate.

Which one will turn 'states evidence' first?

Question of the week.

Good post, thanks. i think in the end even the rural people will find out that Mr.T is nothing but a liar.( When the first shot is fired i will be in Bangkok fiting on your side) As*ole
