i'd like to take advantage of the spike in the value of the baht, and i want to exchange local currency for a couple of thousand australian dollars.

does anyone know where i could change about 100-200k baht to aus dollars in bangkok? also do money changers need prior warning for these kinds of transactions (i.e. buying foreign currency)?

i'm at bangkapi at the moment and would rather not make the treck into the city due to the crackdown, so does anyone know of places around here or perhaps somewhere like sukumvit? i've asked at the mall and they also told me to go to silom. i guess i could try the airport, but it's not one of my most favourite places in bangkok

But I dont know if their office is open. Its in soi opposite Central world.

a couple of 100k ฿ will not create any problem for any money exchanger in bkk....

but to get a better rate of exchange, probably you'll need to do some legwork.... lol
