Imagine

Featured Replies

Thai TV was just playing Lennon's Imagine with footage of recent events.

I hope some of you were as moved as I was.

Indeed I was moved but, then again I'm moved each morning about this time. :)

I found it ironic "imagine there's no countries", as they promote nationalism, "and no religion too"........

:) Thats what i said to my Thai wife when she started singing and talking about imagine. I wondered where that conversation came from before i saw the advert.

They do the translation in Thai during the advert maybe the deep meaning gets a little lost in translation.

I thought how would I am Thai, I am from Thailand, I speak Thai, I love Thailand and I cannot accept any negative criticism about my country, family or people.

Possibly fit into a World of imagine no countries?

Irony is the perfect word for it....

Peace.

Do you think Thai TV have paid the royality to use that track....if not, suspect Yoko will be p*ssed...

It's one of the worst songs Lennon ever wrote. Sentimental drivel. A good propaganda song though, as Daoyai pointed out.

Is it on youtube anywhere???

Whats the link, can't find it.

Since 90% of the thai population doesn't understand a word english or have ever heard about John Lennon previously in there life this is has the same effect as if the US government would play a song of a popular Thai singer for one of their flasbacks about the Grenada war.

What is the point?
