Where To Watch The World Cup On Samui?

Featured Replies

Can anyone let us know the best places on Koh Samui to watch the world cup matches next month?

Preferably with a bit of atmosphere :)

Where are you?

Which bar won't show the WC games and will voluntarily lose out on all potential business.

There's a Facebook group that actually is just about this topic.

Does anyone know who has the broadcasting rights for Thailand for the WC?

Is it on True or cable?

If not we may have problems as the South African channel S3 is being switched off completely in Thailand at the end of this month from what I have been told.

The only other alternative is the Astro satellite boadcasting Malaysian channels and not many bars have this one as far as I know.

I'm told this costs around 25-30000 bahts to set up if it can be done in time.

Has anyone got more information?

Not all Bars will be able to afford new systems which gaurantee the English comentary and I for one don't want to watch England or any other team for that matter in thai.

Hello,if your in Lamai the Samui Shamrock Irish pub are showing all the games with English commentry, they have two astro systems as well as Ubc HD.Theres always a good crowd there so there should be plenty of good athmosphere, especially when the French are playing :) .In Chewang you cant go wrong with the Islander or Murphys, have a good one !

More info Here

I watched the England v Mexico game in Black Jack on monday and had a great night. No shortage of atmosphere , had a good crowd in and half-time / full time saw all the old fav's being dragged out - Back Home, 3 Lions , Vindaloo ........ even had a bit of land of Hope & Glory & Rule Britannia. May not appeal to the any other supporters but I know where I'll be wearing the 3 Lions on June 12th.

ps.They also have the Astro system in place so English language is guaranteed for the world cup
