Should we mourn the loss of just the veterans or the death of our founding fathers ideals that our nation were founded on?

What happened? I feel out of the loop a bit here

May 30Th, widely celebrated on May 31rst is Veterans Day or Remembrance Day as some people call it. This day we remember all those Soldiers, Airman, and Seaman that gave their lives so we can enjoy the freedom we have today.
