As i non lover of Bangkok and some of the people living there,i have decided to be more quiet on my views. As a Pattaya resident(non monger) i do get annoyed about the disgusting things posted on here about the place, and react mainly to the farang residents of Bangkok, who knock the place.

We all have our views and will start to tolerate them more, but you have to be the same and stop posting very nasty things about the place and the girls from Issan working there. There is nothing clever about calling them thick or saying horrible things about their nose, colour, education etc etc.

In Pattaya there are plenty of issan girls working in all areas of business, including ladies from Bangkok, laos,Cambodian,Myanmar,South Thailand etc etc,and plenty of male workers from all these regions. In future i will not react but if i see something racist i will report it and hope the mods/global mods will take action.

The posts regarding the unrest have been quite remarkable from certain people and my wind ups have not helped to reduce the bickering, even though i know its a very important topic for the thais and to a lesser degree with the farangs.I do visit other forums and have no problem with the board members but for some reason i do get very angry with some of the posts on here.My time in Thailand has been brilliant and enjoy living here much better than Suburbia uk,so fellow posters hope you arent too dissapointed that i am changing for the good lol

There are far too many people on here who take themselves/Thaivisa far too seriously....its entertainment that all

I would suggest that if you start reporting all the "racist" comments, then you are just as bad as the person making the comments, where would you stop ?...If an american calls me a limey can I report him, or calling a Scotsman a sweaty sock or tight, a Kiwi, a Sheep shagg*r.....etc etc...

If I was French or German, should I be offended by some of the comments made about both these nationalities on TV..??

Somtampet, please explain to me how your own regularly-vented, sweeping comments about expats in Bangkok is any different from somebody else's sweeping comments about Issan girls in Pattaya?

There is no difference mate, thats why i am going to stop and i hope others stop too,but i wouldnt call it racism though.I can accept Bangkok thais to a certain degree being racist because they are racist towards Issan but i hate it when farangs do it.

Anyway my 2 mates from Bangkok will be in Pattaya at the weekend so i better be quiet lol.

Steroetypes, we all love to use them. It makes our place in life seem more concrete.

I initially married a girl I met at Orchid Towers, we had a great 6 year marriage, until drugs got in the way.

Now I am married to a simple girl from the village.

Things are no easier, as I am sure time spent with a Bangkokian would probably be even harder, due to her expectations.

No matter who the girl, where she comes from, what country you live in, things are not going to fall into place.

It all takes work, on both sides.

somtampet, forget the Bangkok bigots, the Pattaya perverts, the Phangan preachers, the Buri Ram Bule (Bahasa Indo for Farang), the Khon Ken Klan....etc etc

Just live your life the way you want, and take on board only what furthers your life struggle.

Life is way too short to worry about these things...
