none of my machines are showing up in the team stats. whats that all about ?

I've downloaded and installed the client software but all I get is a black screen with the following:

What am I doing wrong?

Hmm, sorry, dont know Jai Dee. It all worked simply for me.

If your Windows firewall is on, you'll have to give access to the program [email protected].

Otherwise the client program cannot recieve the assignments.

Also, if you connect through a router, you'll have to set up your router to forward port 8080 to your pc.

That explains it... our company firewall blocks all p2p stuff too...

I'll have to try working around it somehow.

over night my computer ran out of memory!

1 GB Ram, 1 GB Swapfile.

I just lost a couple of days work

PC rebooted by itself for some reason. When scandisk ran it found a problem with one of the F@H files. When it restarted, 0/400

I have since (shut the gate after the horse bolted) changed my DataKeeper so that it keeps backups of the F@H directory.

I must add some computers, but lazy....

I was in France for vacations.

The team is using inline skates, with a lot of wheels, and I'm only a small one (If i allow too much CPU time to F@H my fan cannot cool the CPU enough, and my laptop craches).

ive just joined....user id devil_dog...

lets c how this runs on my test server(p4 2.4 Ghz).....

maybe i install this on my zeon server(single 3.2 Ghz) later.....

can i use the same user name both the places?

well...started F@H at 3 locations....notebook, my zeon server and p4 test server....

on the notebook ive set maximum cpu usage to 90%....heat problems...

my zeon box is set to 100%.....but in task manager it shows only 50% CPU usage....any clue? <-- abt 3.5 mins/frame

the zeon is at a remote location....any problem(not fixable remotely) is a BIG problem....anyone have had any system crashes due to F@H?

I've been running F@H now for a couple of weeks, running average probably about 20 hours per day.

My system is very underpowered. PIII with only 128Mb Ram and Win XP Professional.

In all that time I have had only one problem, when the system rebooted for no apparent reason. But I couldn't blame it on F@H.

As long as you aren't having overheating problems it seems to be very stable.

Mr_Happy, maybe you could advertise this thread on the hub: most hub users have their computer on 24/7 to download, and so have a lot of CPU to spare.

Devil: only crashes I had were because my computer were not cool enough.

If you scared this might happen, just limit the CPU use of F@H (you can do this in advanced settings of F@H).

normally how long does it take for stats to refresh?

I think it gets refreshed hourly, but I wouldn't bet on it.
