This thread was obviously opened by a person who has never played soccer or had never tried to learn the

game, possible because he/she comes from a country where 74 % of the population is obese and over weight

and therefor cannot play the game to a high level due to poor fitness levels.

Look at the top USA sports - NBA NFL and MLB - all sports where the game is interrupted more than any other

sport in the world. Why do pro athletes need 5 time outs in the last 30 seconds of a bball game? they should

know by now what to do after all they are pros? NFL lineman .. say no more. MLB a team sport where only the

pitcher and betters really matter with the rare interaction of the other 8 team members ... what a yawner.

Look at the level of fitness of a soccer pro compared to any top three USA sports and you will find the best athletes

are the soccer players.

Why does the world love soccer ... you nailed that one ... all you need is a ball to have a game.

So you want to shift the discussion from sports to the overall fitness of citizens of a specific country? If that's the case, how about telling us from what health wise, physically fit country you come from?

What is the point about talking about "football" when you clearly know nothing about it and have'nt even bothered to learn anything in order to enhance your troll thread. Had it not been for Warpspeeds consumate stupidity and willingness to make himself look like a complete cock it would'nt have been nearly as amusing.:) BTW. The sport is called FOOTBALL

What is there to know about? It is what it is. A simple basic game where there is often more action in the stands then on the field.

How anyone can enjoy watching a game with players taking flops with little or no contact hoping to get a cheap penalty and games ending in 0 to 0 scores with no winner is beyond me. If you want to watch a real man's game played by real athletes watch Australian football. Bigger, tougher guys that aren't afraid to get hit and where the action keeps moving with plenty of scoring and excitement. Of course, because it is not watched by BILLIONS and BILLIONS it can't be that good of a game right?

nobody has said that in this thread though. i'm a fan of aussie rules football, it's a fun, exciting, spontaneous game not all about playbooks and yardage. and the players don't wear crash helmets or shoulder pads.

to coin a football cliche, you are having a nightmare in this thread my son.

The fact is Aussie rules and American football are both entertaining in their own way. I wouldn't dream of knocking them and they both enjoy a large fan base in their own countries.

Football or soccer as some prefer to call it has expanded to become the most popular game around. This is due to its simplicity and ease of access. If the other sports mentioned were an improvement on what's being played elsewhere and the best example would be rugby then surely those sports would expand and overtake rugby union for instance.

Well as it is rugby seems to be getting more and more popular worldwide same as football/soccer.

Ho hum back to the drawing board me old son..... :)

Its the complicated stuff like passing accurately and defending corners we seem to have most trouble with. At least we have solved our goalkeeping problems in recent years. :D

This won't be popular with JS but if Rangers had left us our manager we might be enjoying a few beers in Cape Town right now. :)

The Sweaties often seem to manage to get their players to play above their level ... now if only England could to that for a string of games who knows what could happen.

It requires passion teamwork and a real love for your shirt. Maybe you could try a new faith healer....or bring back Keegan for the remaining games at least you might score a few goals and it would solve the lack of defensive cover! :D

I think this thread has probably run its course. As for calling people morons and the like. I'll let that slide. Comes down to this. You may like one sport and others like others. Its a personal choice. No one is right or wrong. Though i have to say. Cricket is a crap game. :):D :D
