June 21, 200521 yr well, obviously in Thai society...many couples have "benefit friend" .. i think it's weired... why people like to cheat... well im curious that , do you guys have? if you have why? 1 your partner is not good enough? 2 do u like something that's exciting? well i have no idea.. but it's the one reason that Thai ladies want to have farang BF..coz we believe that farang won't cheat (well...maybe rural or not) for me..i believe in monogamy and yes..some guys ask me to be benefit friend ....i just reject how about you? bambi Edited June 21, 200521 yr by BambinA
June 21, 200521 yr There is the fashion these days for what is called 'open relationships' i.e. where both parties go and have sex with others......"free love" OK if that is how you want to lead your lives, I respect that. For my part, I believe in monogamy too.Call me old fashioned, but how can you truly love with more than the one person? ( that is if you believe in true love, if not then you are just 'playing around' with your partners emotions) if you cannot be faithfull to that one person then end the relationship altogether . Better that than have them find out that you have been cheating on them and hurting both parties in the long term. Infidelity is the biggest cause of love turning into bitter hatred.
June 21, 200521 yr Most decent farangs believe in manogomy. Most decent Thai's believe in manogomy. Most decent furniture makers believe in mahogany, but they too are sometimes prone to getting wood and acting on it.

June 22, 200521 yr I think with some guys and gals, it's that their partner is not as outgoing or as social with other people. I like people and like to meet new people all the time. I can't be stuck in the house all the time and need to communicate with others. I get into town once in awhile and I just want to meet up with friends, shoot pool and have a few beers (and yes, I do look at the women). To say that I want to meet other women for just sex is not in my book. Would be interesting to find someone that could understand that without the hangups but then it's probably just me wtih the hangup anyway. What woud be nice is to have the misses more outgoing but I highly doubt that she will ever change. Don't need to change her, she's great in all other ways, maybe it's just me that needs to change.

Took my g/f a few months to get familiar with the term "gig" also meaning "session" in English. June 22, 200521 yr Personally, i have a lot of time for 'open' relationships, and think that they can be a good idea as long as both people know where they stand. For me, it is not an issue of somebody not being good enough nor has it anything to do with love. I enjoy female company and the bedroom activities that often entails, but at this stage in my life i am not looking to settle down, get married and have children and i am not looking for love. I therefore do not wish to be involved in anything too serious and do not want to waste the time of those that do. I just look upon my sexual relationships as an enjoyable addition to my life, nothing deeper than that. One day i expect my attitudes will change and maybe then i will look for love. In my experience there are enough people who share a similar perspective to me for this to not be a problem, although i admit there can be obvious complications. As long as you are honest with your friends and your actions are not designed to hurt them then there should not be serious problems.
June 22, 200521 yr I believe that you will only find true love in monogamy.. I am happely engaged myself and getting married next year..

Good call, now let's introduce the word "session" to replace "gig" in the Thai sense of the word - that way nobody will have a clue what you're talking about.
