Ladies Do You Really Miss

Featured Replies

hi all,

do you really miss tampons from your home countries ?

we are now trying to import tampax products for sale thru our business.

my wife is thai but after using tampons she cant understand how she used pads for so long, shes told all her friends about them, how clean and fresh she feels with them.i have to bring a suitcase full back of them now.

what i want to know is if i get this import deal set up is would it be of any interest to you ?

would you buy them ?

i dont mean at high prices just another produt from our shop, mail order aswell, just a few baht to cover the costs.we do ok as it.

seriously would it be of interst to you ?

what other feminie products would you be intersted in ? basicly its just another string to the bow.

vitamines have been talked about and we are in talks with a uk company that begins with H ands ends with B would you consider this brand as a good brand.

and as for underware we already import that from the uk. la senza items, sell it at 100 baht over cost in the ukplus a bit for postage etc.,i must admit that we have stock of about 500 items and mostly it is to order takes about 2 weeks to get.the thai girls love la senza been selling all the items from their last sale,in the uk £12.00 for 6 pairs of panties or shorts we sold them for 700 baht for 6 pairs

please comment on food items from the uk aswell as that is another thing we are getting into.

all of your comments are welcome we all need to make a living out here but we all know we dont need to rip people off

just paid my 15,000 baht for a cheese import license, just have to wait for the inspection before i get the go ahead to be able to do it..

if your into clineque produts like my wife we have those as well.

we have a hair and beauty produts salon in bangkok.

do hair straightning hair colour and all the rest of it.but we charge thai prices as most of our market is thai.

mods i hope i have put this in the right place i dont want to offened anyone on here.

and ladies you wont even see me you will only deal with my wife and her english is perfect.

thanks all.

My girl always seemed to be able to buy tampons in Thailand from

any supermarket.

As for missing tampons from your own country. Call me old fasioned

but I do not think there is a lot of science or room for complication

when it comes to tampons. As simple as a product can be, cotton

on a string.

Oh dear....................... I just realised how boring I am getting lately.

Hi, I am a woman living in Thailand. There are tampons available here in most areas with a lot of westerners, but they tend to be the AB brand (without applicator) and are absolutely rubbish. I have also seen Boots own brand applicator tampons on sale in a pharmacy at extortionate prices. The gap in the market would certainly be for good quality applicator tampons from the uk - eg. Tampax, playtex etc. I would definitely buy those. A lot of my friends here get their families to send over boxes.

The other thing that is really hard to find in Thailand is good quality essential oils and homeopathic medicines and products, for example from Helios in the UK. Most people I know who live here have asked me about this at some point or another.

Vitamins - there are some okay brands available.

Hope that's helpful

hi to all,

my hubby has got me to join now.

basicly we have a beauty and massagew salon in bangkok at sukumvit 71,as most people know business is slow at the moment.

anything i can do to increase it is worth while to us,nobody wants to lose money,if we can bring things, items you want here we will do.can be picked up from our shop or posted to you.

we already import la senza from the uk but mainly when the sales are on for the best price'es also m and s but again only when the sales are on.

i am a lover of clineque products so get loads of them also.

i am one of the best colourist and hair straightning stylists in bangkok but only charge thai prices i dont do hair cuts for farang only thai as thats all i went to uni to learn,i dont double charge,we have a shop in bangkok at pridi banomyong 41 call in and see me..

best manicure or pedicure in bangkok using top quality products and 120 baht try my shop once and you wont go anywhere else again.

thanks for that,

we are also thinking about importing holland and barret products aswell i have been told vitamines here are not the best you can buy.

do you think they are worth the trouble of importing ?

Personally I have always found the local OB brand of tampons just the same as any other tampon. Then again I never was fussed about the applicator and use non-applicator tampons in other countries (I also think its a lot of waste and is ecologically better to not use applicators). But, seems a lot of women disagree, so would seem there is a market.

If i can think of anything I miss then will let you know. I guess ive resorted to substitutes a lot for things i used to miss..as i cant even remember anymore what i used to buy.

Errrrm, well without making men puke here, I have always gone for Lilets branded tampons from the UK because they expand widthways rather than lengthways. I get them sent from the UK. However I probably wouldn't be interested in buying them here. The mark up would make them too much. They are part of my established rescue package from my mama and therefore are free! As much as I miss a lot of stuff at home, even if it is available here, the mark up and my lower salary makes it too much of a luxury to make it worthwhile. Especially compared to the value of Thai made products. Primark (UK budget fashion chain) looks like a luxury brand compared to the markets here! I suspect you do well selling western underwear here because the people who buy it like the fact it isn't available in Thailand, as opposed to it being better than any brands available here.

Clinique you can get in any major department store. Actually living in Bangkok as I do now, there is pretty much nothing that I can't get hold of, even M+S undies! Living in the sticks though, it was a different scenario..

mssabai, ob expands widthways also. Actually i feel a bit foolish, i didnt realise other brands expanded lengthwise. Guess Tampax does? Now that i think back i do recall Tampax looking a bit different. I used to use lilets in the UK too, but i find Ob seems the same to me.

So are there any other products you ladies miss besides tampons?  :)

Juts trawl through this forum and you'll see the amount of stuff that we miss. I think the top 5 were wine, chocolate, deodarant, tampons and undies. We are simple creatures really... ; )

Tampons are a biggie james :) There is nothing more gross imo than sanitary pads. Tampons make things just so much better. Thats why its probably top of the list lol.

I agree with mssabbais list. Maybe not in that order, and for me leave out the wine. But yes, we really are quite simple really.

So you really didn't need to start this topic then did you Eek? I mean Equiem :)

Still a good topic tho. I guess if he hunted around the forum then he would find our wish lists, but good to have it possibly obtainable. :)

Then why not rename it " The Hunt for Red Chirugie"?

I was shocked to read that somebody could not find tampons in Thailand. At least o.b. brand is available at any 7/11 or department store, really! And they are not bad at all IMHO, I'd agree with Eek on that. (confused)

As for La Senza... They had at least one shop in Bangkok's Central World, so not unique to Thailand. Sorry OP, and good luck with your business.

well, first, ive not used tampons in 30 yrs!!! just pads and as far as i can see, here at least a large amount of women and young girls also only use pads including my daughters...be that as it may

im guessing that if i were to live in thailand for a long amount of time, cosmetics the NON WHITENING types such as skin creams, sun screens, would all be on my list. but i admit, i tend to adjust to what i can get and make do with most things... although ligenia vaginal soap (ph balanced liquid soap only for 'down there') would be useful due to heat and humidity caused candida and stuff... but not sure if ligenia is even a western (anglo) soap or only israeli... either way, its great, non perfumed, and something that i wouldnt go back to korat without it...

La Senza was super expensive with a limited selection and for a high end lingerie store, the atmosphere was not conducive to shopping.

Zen Central had a great lingerie section, with more reasonable prices and a far larger selection of items. pity its gone too.

Forever21 had some good undies when they first started out but last time I went before it too got destroyed, the selection wasn't so great. Siam Paragon department store is ok. Can be pricey but again, a large selection.

If you are a smaller breasted girl then Platinum Fashion Mall has several undie stores, you have to try the bras on over your clothes but I found it difficult to get anything in my cup size.
