Hello. I understand that both me and my fiance ned to submit our letters of intent.

On the form itself it needs the embassy of the country and address.

Do we both put the embassy info from the US on there? SHould they both be the same or does she need to put her thai address and location on there?

Thanks!

Also, what is an NOA? I cant find that in the FAQ

MeAndWipawee,

I based both mine and my wife's " letters of intent" from this example (from visa journey website):

http://www.visajourney.com/examples/Fiance...r_of_Intent.doc

NOA="Notice of Action", they are letters you get from the USCIS , for example when you mail your original I-129F petition, USCIS will acknowledge your petition by sending this NOA ; usually it has general info of what is going on, what to expect and other general info on the back of the NOA.....*do not lose those NOAs**

For further reference, try this website (it was useful for when I was going thru what you are back in 07-2004)

Good Luck

I followed the instructions in the book called Fiance & Marriage Visas: A Couple's Guide to U.S. Immigration. I found it priceless while going through the Fiance visa process and also very good for the green card process that follows.

Basically, you have to prove to them that you're in a bona-fide relationship. This also goes along with Question number 18 of the I-129F in which you have to prove you've met her in the past 2 years.

In my letter, I started with when and why I moved to Thailand. Then I described how I took a teaching job and met my fiance while teaching. Then I described the things we did during our courtship. I included trips (day trips and overnights) and dates. The story went on up to my deciding to move back to the States to get a "real" job. Then proposing to her after I got a real job. After that I described our plans to have a Budhist wedding in her home town, then a legal ceremony in the States.

I had my wife write a letter as well. She wrote it in broken English, so I corrected it and included both copies. I signed the one I translated for her, she signed both. The reason I did this was because I didn't want them to suspect her letter was fake because the grammar was too good. This way they could read mine first, then hers so they would fully understand what she was saying.

I supported everything in our letters with evidence. This included a contract to teach, her receipt from the school to learn, hotel receipts, and lots of photos, especially from our engagement ceremony.

Since you are trying to prove you have a real relationship, it probably doesn't hurt to also explain why you think she is "the one". Meaning, throw in some details about what made you decide to marry her. (She works hard, very smart, ...) Saying she has a great @ss and is wonderful in bed probably won't help you here.

On our k-1 application we each wrote a statement that we intended to marry each other signed it and that was it. I also wrote a letter about us, enclosed pictures of us together and with her family, hotel bills with both our names, plane tickets together in Thailand, and my phone bills. My petition was approved rather quickly by USCIS, only one month in CA, now it's draggging on with the Bangkok end getting their papers, and the med/police exam. Soon we'll have an interview date for about the end of Oct. I expect, and I'll be there to make sure there is no misunderstanding about our intent or anything else. Good luck. Don't hear too much about bonafide k-1 applications being refused-but....
