I have just heard news that Richard Whitely has died after undergoing heart surgery.

What will happen to countdown now? It just wont be the same without him

R.I.P :o

HE was a funny guy, who I spent many days watching.

RIP :o

Same same me. That was one of the few gameshows where I constantly felt totally outclassed by the competition.

It doesn't matter how nice a bloke he was, according to a Christian I spoke to, if he didn't accept the lord Jesus Christ into his heart, read the bible and go to church then he will burn forever in h£ll. :o

totster...I stand corrected. Us yanks view UK TV as monolithic hence the confusion...

And only slightly better than French TV

...yeah, I'm ready! :o

I used to watch Countdown while living in Newcastle 9 years ago. It was something to do while getting away from that feezing weather and complete darkness at 4pm :D

He had a few great check suit jackets :D Carol, the thinking mans sex symbol, was a stunner with brains - does she still look as good?

RIP Richard, it seems like your number was up :o

Carol...holy sh1t...middle aged and to die for...if she could take me in her arms and whisper small math puzzles...I would nuzzle her breasts and sleep...

SLEEP!! With Carol giving me full instructions. I would write calculus all around her nipples. STOP! just going for a cold shower………
