Government Extends Free Electricity

Featured Replies

Just heard on the news this morning that the Government has extended the Free Electricity program. The program will finish at the end of the year.

For those who do not know - It is for those who use less than 90 units per month on their meter.

Great for me, as I have 2 meters, one for each of my condos, that have an adjoining door, one meter is always under

the 90 unit limit, the other is always over, so a big saving for me.

I have 2 meters too, upsetting to read the program will come to an end.

how does this work?

how can i get it?

does it apply to farang who rent a room in a building with other units?

i pay my utilities to the landlord

havnt heard a thing about this

Except for the TV post, where did you read that the program will come to an end. Too, 90 units is not a lot of electricity and, at 3.5THB a unit, we're talking about an extra $10USD a month - not a lot of money - hardly worth getting upset over.

If 400 baht per month, that's 4800per year, maybe not much, but a saving. Every little bit helps. It is like my TOT internet, free telephone calls with it, so my wife uses them up every month.

Also like my AIS contract, calls upto 200 minutes, 50 free SMS's, 10 MMS's, 4 hours Internet, and pay 250baht. Anything over is charged at the normal rate.
