Ubc Satellte: No Sound After Power Outage In Korat

Featured Replies

We had a brief power outage in Korat today. After the power came back on the UBC satellite service is kind of jerky and there is no sound at all. I'm having a hard time figuring out how a power outage on the ground could affect the satellite which is orbiting the earth.

Oh, yeah, I did test the TV's using KCTV (Korat City cable TV) and they are OK. It's just the UBC satellite service that has no sound....

It's probably your receiver, either killed by a power spike or just 'confused'.

Try this:-

Turn off the receiver (with the button on the front)

Pull out the plug.

Go and have a tea/coffee/beer for 30 minutes.

Plug it back in and power up.

Test. If it's fixed, great, if not it's time to call the doctor from your friendly satellite place.

Good luck.

Happens to me ofton. Power down the decoder and power it up again (at the power point) or open thf flap on the front of the decoder. Pull out the sim card and replace it. The machine should reboot OK

Thanks. Power-cycling the unit and rebooting did the trick.

I feel pretty dumb not thinking of that myself....
