What is required to take a car to Malaysia from Thailand? I have a 5 year Thai license, will that be accepted or do I need an International one. Also what are the requirements for the car please?

You need to bring proof of ownership (reg book). If you dont own it you need a letter from owner in addition, allowing you to bring the car

Car should have engish reg plate in addition to thai. Stickers accepted.

No window tint front side windows and windshield

Or sometimes, just drive through and smile.

Edit Thai car insurance is usually not valid outside Thaialnd

OK thanks for the info. Might be easier to leave the car in Hat Yai with family, and catch the mini bus.
