What this command does is trace the hops through ISP s and carrier nodes such as AT&T between you that issued the command and the final destination. If he ran a true IP sniffer there would be millions of computers spawning to google ports. lowbo Posted July 9, 2010 Share Posted July 9, 2010 at least he tried... as "kratai57: stated, this is a 'trace route' command that simply maps the connection path from the host to the destination... the speed quality this kid refers to is the response time from the host to that particular 'hop'. the lower the value, the lower the latency, the better the quality and has nothing to do with another user's IP.
